FIrst of all - make sure you drink plenty of water - dehydration will do you a lot more damage than sunburn

Secondly, if you have any aloe vera or lavender oil (both available from pharmacies), they are fantastic at relieving the pain and itching - all types of burns respond to lavender oil and you can put it straight on the skin without dilution.

There are some other great products such as DNA repair creme that actually repair some of the damage to skin cells, but they are mail order, so no good for right now.

If you can get to an all-night pharmacy (or even big supermarket) aloe vera or lavender oil is your best bet

Man, if it's a really bad sunburn there's not much you can do. I had a wicked sunburn on my shoulders while swimming in the Colorado mountains in July, 2003. The next few days were incredibly painful. Dude, I was bubbling and blistering and the bubbles would pop and rip and puss would come out and it would stick on to my shirt. I couldn't raise my arms up or take off my shirt without excrutiating pain. It was the most uncomfortable experience of my life.

I know that was a little graphic but I'm just assuring you that my sunburn was probably alot worse than yours. Damn my fair skin!

take a shower with cool water and apply Noxema cream, you should go to the Dr., You will have to sleep on your stomach with one arm over the side of the bed for comfort, if you can, put a box fan, or ANY fan, securly over, or near the bed, so that the "Prop wash" goes over your back, after 3 days you should be ok but, you should see a Dr. for better pain relief, and examination, you may need anti-biotics. You have a "RADIATION" burn from the largest nuclear reactor in the galaxy, don't do it again, cover up always, use MAX. spf on sunblock and apply often, sunglasses and a hat should be worn.

No, your skin will peel off, leaving more pale skin underneath. This is after you deal with several days of peeling. Of course, some people are lucky and get left with a tan. But not if you have 'very fair' skin. You should use sun screen to prevent it. Seriously, isn't that obvious? Be proactive.

Take a bowl fill with ice, pour white vinegar over the ice. Then use a wash cloth and soak in bowl. Place the cloth over the area of the burn. Keep doing this you will feel the heat coming out of your skin on the cloth. Once you get the heat out you will feel alot better.Keep doing this until you feel better. Also keep drinking plenty of fluids

all you can do is put some after sun on (it's be a late to do it now but it cant make it any worse can it?) and try not to go in the sun for a 2 or 3 days and if you do put lots of sun cream on you're face and put a t-shirt or something on good look
