Personality has always been the deciding factor on whether or not I'll date someone, but there has always been a need for me to be physically attracted to the woman as well.
I ask this: How much do looks have to do with you possibly getting involved in a relationship with someone? Also, does personality always make up for looks, or is it package deal?
I am 6 foot 8 inches tall and about 275-285 lbs., so being a big guy, I have always been attracted to women that are slightly larger than average. Is this the usual case for average sized people, or is this just the case for myself? What kind of women are usually attracted to extremely tall guys?

It is a package deal. For me, the guy should be attractive in my eyes - now that can grow with time and getting to know him, but he cannot be so ugly that I cannot put up with his look. What I consider attractive may also be not so attractive in some other people's eyes (as you may appreciate, most people have different ideas on what is considered good-looking). Sometimes, if a guy smiles a lot, he will come across more attractive. Also when a guy has a great personality and the right attitude, he will seem more attractive as well.
In different countries, the "average" is different... for instance, I'm of Chinese background, and happen to be roughly average for a Chinese, but if you compare me to an American for instance, I'd be considered quite small. I think a lot of women would like to be with a guy who's taller and bigger than her. One of the advantage is the feeling of being "looked after" or protected. Of course, I cannot generalise for all women.
What kind of women are usually attracted to extremely tall guys? That's a difficult question to answer. You might need to hold a poll and survey to find that out. Any one woman cannot possibly answer that question for you. Having said all that, to give you an idea, I am someone who is attracted to tall guys - but maybe not soooo tall that he is like a giraffe to me. I'd consider one ruler's length (say 30cm) to be the maximum difference in height for me.

You have to initially be physically attracted to someone. However, looks fade. So you have to find someone with the personality you are looking for. I don't know if it is usual for bigger men to be more attracted to bigger woman, to each their own. My husband is a big guy, and I wasn't when I met him. When I met him I weighed about 125. Of course since then, I have put on about 25 lbs, he's a good cook :) Your questions are geared toward all woman in general, so I can't answer for everyone. I think alot of woman like the tall, dark handsome kind. You sound like you have a great personality.

Tons of women are attracted to really tall guys. I think if I was a 6ft tall women I would be attracted to a guy your height. There are even some women that are shorter that like real tall guys. There is really no definite answer for this question,

I would say the whole package
I dont want a guy who has a great personality and no looks and it wont help either if the guy have the looks and the body and he isnt very bright or have a great personality

For me i'm attracted to the persons personality, it's not always about the quantity, it's about the quality.

in other words, whatever the attraction attracted me first wins. i just go with the flow
