I can't judge, because I don't know them, but it does seem rather like they don't care. It depends on whether or not they are sucessful and motivated in other parts of thier lives.

Typically (and socially) appearance is a sign of prosparity and worthiness. It's not just humans that do this either. Animals prune and prance in order to find a mate. (Ironically it is the human species where the woman does this where in animals it is typically the male.)

I feel better when I look better. That's not to say I haven't gone grocery shopping in sweats and a ball cap before. And at home, i prefer to be pant-less. But I like to dress up to go out.

If they lived in American or UK or Japan or France or Italy. Just some place that's very fashionista and into clothes. But you should come on here to Shanghai. Tons of people wear pajamas out. But then these people aren't extremely well-off. But they choose to wear pajamas. They're not even called pajamas but they certainly look like it. They spend their whole day in it.

So what? You (and other people) may think that they look strange but how they dress is no one else's business. You can choose to not spend time with them or to not go certain places with them but that's all.

I cannot disagree with you more. Why impose on someone else your sense of aesthetics? What's more , why are you upset?
Are you a student of the savoir vivre? or a paragon of culture?
