It's a question of religious tolerence and morals. Is it because you believe it is a choice? If yes, why do you believe you know that for a fact and not because the bible says. Also why is prejudice agains non-believers ok? Do you also believe it is a choice?

It's not that Christianity is the reason they are against it, it just lets them justify their actions. They're scared of homosexuality because it's different to what they're used to. There's no difference here than in racism, there just happens to be a more widely spread idea that it's backed up by religion.
Personally, I'm offended that people think of homosexuality as a sex only thing - I keep seeing people saying "Who you have sex with is your own choice, therefore homosexuality is a choice." This is a crap argument against it, being gay isn't simply about wanting to sleep with those of the same gender, it's about being attracted to them first.
Seriously, it's like saying that being straight is just wanting to bed anyone of the opposite sex, it's simply not and it works the same for both.

Why is it said that they are against gays? Instead of they just don't agree with that lifestyle. You can not agree with something someone does & still care about them. Gay marriage has not passed & it's not because everyone who votes are Christians. Why are Christians being singled out, like it's said that gays are being singled out? I don't know how they can be blamed for everything....
Can it be said that some people are against adultery? Why aren't those persons (that do that) saying that Christians aren't against anything but them?
Why is there prejudice against believers? Do you know of a Christian that has messed with people that do that type of thing? On the contrary, it's the opposite. That there are those that dislike & are being mean to Christians cuz they can't stand them being able to have their own opinion. Just like you have a right to choose your livelihood, don't they get to choose theirs? I'm sure it's not only Christians that disagree with certain things. Like I said there are non-believers that don't agree with some of the same things.
Remember we say that our God doesn't like the sin, but LOVES the sinner. The sinner can choose to go to God & be reconciled with Him. He will give them the help of the Holy Spirit to overcome sin.
For some it may not be a choice, remember in the bible it talks of some that were born with certain behaviors & went to the Lord for cleansing. If they say that they can only remember always being like that, it may be true in their case!

Well actually most may say that gay is a choice. But there may be some genetic problems in which a person may have different feelings. But really the Bible does not make this as an excuse. Homosexuality man with man or woman with woman is unclean. It is a perversion of what the design is meant to be. Procreation is that the creation of something new. So much more than just a sin, it is an abomination. As I stated, the misuse of sex, and the perversion of same sex, is really not love but sexual desires, and selfishness.

What Christians think of you is not important. There are many Christians "not" living according to God's Word. Human opinion means nothing. It is the opinion of God one should be concerned with. The Lord knows when we are trying our best to live according to His Word, or just doing what is comfortable for us.
He can see the heart and motives of all!!
However, to answer your question, I'm sure many believe homosexuality is a choice, which is why they are intolerant. Go to God in prayer, and worry less about what people think. Whether you live a Christian life or not, people will judge and criticize you. It can not be avoided. You can only control how you choose to respond!
p.s. I'm not sure why one would compare sexuality with ethnicity, in terms of "tolerance", unless there is a bit of racism at the core.

Because being a particular race is not a choice, and homosexuality is. It is killing them in record numbers and it's a sin.
Even if you claim you were born that way (of which is NO proof mind you) then I say to you that you must be BORN AGAIN to enter the kingdom of God.
Look up the top 5 causes of death for homosexuals (men) in the US:
AIDS and Rectal cancer are the top two. Suicide, Alcoholism and domestic violence are the others.
You CHOOSE who you have sex with (unless every sexual encounter you've had has been rape). You may feel a particular way but you still much choose to get into bed with that person.

I don't know about anyone else , but I am not against anyone even though when it comes to it I cannot condone what is not right in God's eyes, this does not mean that I am against people who are prcticing what God condemns. I am not the Judge, God is, but I do talk to anyone no matter what they practice, I try to be peacable with all Men /women, as the Bible says I should(Romans12:18) Peace to all.

Because In the bible it states that god looks down on gay marriage. he destroyed a town because gay people were having sex, it the story of soddom and gomorah or something. in the ending of genesis
