the office where i work is quite small and open plan, there are few quiet areas and they are mainly full at all times. Does anyone know of a way I can pray in these conditions? Do most people just wait until they get home?

Surely there will be some space to read it.

Don't delay your salaah, what comes first salaah or work?

When i tend to go out i take a prayer mat and a compass with me, therefore when it is salaah time i find a suitable place.

May Allah make it easy for you inshallah.

I used to work in a large call centre, although not Muslim myself, several staff were. We organised a prayer room on every floor of the building. Although this resolved the issue, is caused huge problems for management as non Muslims were upset as they were not allowed breaks outside allotted times, yet the Muslims were allowed to go off many times a day to pray. I would advise praying quietly at your desk, if your job allows you to, as taking time out can cause hostility.

You can ask your manager if there is an area where you can pray, but you have came to a country which has a completely different culture ( with many other benefits as your aware of) and may have to wait till you have finished the working day before you can pray.

The entire earth is taahir (pure) for Muslims to pray on; except in a cemetery / graveyard or a toilet.
So if you desire you can even pray in the parking lot or on the landing of a flight of stairs or a nearby grass verge.
Please try not to miss your prayer and try to read it at its appointed time. Are you sure that you might not die before you get home? Please try to be punctual with prayer as prayer is the first thing that you will be questioned about on the Day of Judgement!

As you probably know, you can pray silently sitting at your desk if conditions require it. Just like Muslims do in planes or trains or whenever the surroundings do not allow the traditional way of praying.

for prayer u need just a small place and not a foot ball ground. even then if u dont have any place. pray it on ur chair. it will take only 3 mnts to do ur farz. and at the worst case if u dont find a place or permission from ur employer even for 3 mnts, u should change ur job.
trust God he will good to u

Have you asked your employer whether there is an area yo0u could use, eg a meeting room at lunchtime?
Colleagues of mine have done this and it has been block booked to allow them to pray each day.

You can pray in the crowded bus, or having a morning run, or in any other activity. God has never set out the regulations only men did. God is with you every second of your life, you are part of him. There is no need to show others that you pray.

Check with you co-workers about how they could assist you. I am not Muslim, but one of my co-workers was. I made space in my office for her to pray -- I went to photocopy or do some other business at the time.

Have you tried condemning islam to the dustbin? After all it is an evil, wicked cult that preaches hatred, viollence, murder and misery.

Your lot have started beheading buddhists in Thailand now I see.
