The last few weeks I've read various questions and answers here in the religious category. It's clear to me, that Believers should closely monitor their use of the internet and other forms of media communication.
The Bible teaches that there is a time and place for everything, and all our interests should be balanced and modest. The only thing Christians should do continuously and incessantly, is prayer, worship, and praise of God. Othewise we're open to distractions regardless of how strong our faith may be.
Do you use your computer a few times a week, a week out of the month, or do you log on the computer daily, but only for an hour or less? Are you in the process of limiting your media activites, but are having difficulty doing so? Or are you a Christian who spends hours involved with media activities or internet, and see nothing wrong with it? When is the last time you've gone at least a week without media distraction, and focused only on the Bible in your spare time?

Also, volunteer work and fellowship with others focused on God's word is a plus.

I used the word "Christians" because my question is directed to "Christians". I have not made assumptions. I've posted my thoughts, and asked others to share their own.

I agree, everything should be done in moderation except prayer, study and praise of God.

It isn't that we look at you as if you are less, nay for if any christian would say you are less then he,he is a hypocrite and not christian, for we ALL are sinners,no man is better then the other, thus no man can say he is perfect.I am a child of Jesus (yeshua) and it isn't that we feel pity for you or that you are less,We are sad that you will not taste the fruit of everlasting life and live in perfection with our Lord Jesus and finally approach the Almighty and feel the warms of his glow and true happiness. It is sadness that you rejected the christ. Not sorry, just sad :_( for christians are to love all their neighbors and bring them to the truth of Christ Jesus.Well all I can say is,I am happy God gave you happiness,I just pray that you remember this life is not even notable on the time-line of eternity. Please remember that after this life (100-120 if lucky) you will face judgment, and God will judge,I pray that you turn from your unbelief and become a greater christian then I am. May God our Savior Bless you and Open your eyes. Mark the Christian

Christians? are you not making a wild assumption that we are all christians? Generally speaking knowledge is power surely christians? would not want those who are of the same flock to be ignorant about life and technology.
It is quite possible that lacking knowledge will keep you within the flock as you will know little of the truth.
You certainly may study the bible as much as you see fit, If anything the ten commandments is something that should be practised and not preached

Yes, you're probably right, too bad we can't all be perfect christians , then we wouldn't need well written reminders and rebukes from people like you. What's clear to me is that you should mind your own business. Open to distractions? How many people pray, worship, and praise incessantly? You've got to be kidding. People have to work to make a living and then they like to relax. Thank you for reminding me why I stopped attending church.

Believers of all religions want to use their time, money, health and other means for wakening the heedless, the slumberers, the wanderers...to return to the love and knowledge of the One True God. Human beings are noble beings; we need all to turn to God for divine guidance in order to build a new world civilization deserving to our age of maturity. There is today no meritorious actions equalling to guiding our neighbours to the law of God.

I think it is up to he/she. What is important is that there is time for God. Not squeezed in, but prioritised.
If he/she is finding that God has no place in the day, then, yeah, there should be a limit.
