No!!! This will dry your hair out horribly over prolonged use. This is a dandruff shampoo, and therefore has a Low Acidity Level to it (PH). Your body's PH is a between 4.5-5.5, therefore, prolonged usage will break down your hair and dry it as this is not natural to the body. This is a "quick fix" for dandruff. Instead, I would use AVEDA 's Scalp Remedy, as this remains at your body's PH, but uses more therapuetic oils, rather than a chemical reaction to ease your scalp. Good Luck and hope this helps

NO! NO, NO!
You need to find out if you have dandruff or dry scalp. There is a huge difference and each calls for a different solution. The only way you can find out is to go to a dermatologist and then you can be one the path to a cure. One thing I have noticed is that dandruff seems to smell and be in big. almost wet chunks of a yellowish color. (I know this sounds like cradle cap on babies, but its not that bad). Dry scalp is much smaller and very white and dry looking. You can also put your scalp through a self test and get a really good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner...from a salon...( yes, they really are better)...use it for a few months and see if your hair doesn't get better and the flakes stop. This is winter too, so don't forget our skin and scalps get really, really dry. The head and shoulders is just going to dry it out more and more. Make sure you get the conditioner to go with the great shampoo.

Well I must disagree with most the answers. Several years ago when I was in high school we tested many shampoos in Cosmetology. Head and Shoulders was not very good. With continual use you won't have any hair left.

I read many, many beauty reviews, and Head and Shoulders definitely ranks HIGH up there for dandruff shampoos. Try it and come back to pick this as your best answer!

head and shoulders shampoos are just average shampoo, the best shampoos to use is L'oreal Professional.... those are the best shampoos. If you want something for dandruff, L'oreal has one for sensitive scalp and dandruff.

No, Shampoo is not good for your hair.
You will loose your hair.Use natural shampoo like yolk of an egg, rice soup to get rid of dandruff etc. And these are my secret recipes of my hair. In my school i am known as 'MISS HAIR BEAUTY'

Your stylist can recommend a shampoo that will work much better than any brand you could buy in a pharmacy. I've purchased two different salon brands that have been recommended by a stylist. They worked great. Happy hunting.

Not if you colour your hair. It strips the colour and leaves a layer on it making it harder to colour the next time.
