Be the bigger person and walk away

Depends. If you want to fight you fight, if you dont want to fight you dont fight. But if you do fight try to take it outside to an area where you probably wont get arrested. The toughest thing about this is that you should be pretty sure that they dont have a weapon if you dont have one, or be confident that you can disarm them if necessary. Also if they have friends who will join in on the fight if you are clearly winning that can pose a problem. Fighting when I was younger was always the right decision but now as I am older and people have weapons and friends who will jump in, and not to mention the legal ramifications of fighting if you can swallow your pride, which I still have a tough time doing, and you are not doing to be made a fool of in front of anyone who will judge you based on walking away from the fight, its just best to walk away.

I would never get into a fight in a bar but if bad gets to worse I would get the manager

Right or wrong, it's not worth the hassle, especially since that someone could be drunk. Just walk to another area or table. Then, if that person continues to follow you, ask the bartender to ask he/she to leave if they can't be civil. From that point forward, let management handle it.

If you're a female and the "fight picker" was a guy, make sure someone walks you to your car when you leave.

Tell them to have a few more drinks before they pick a fight with you so you have a better chance of winning.

Stay out of bars. Drink at home. You don't know what you're running into these days.
