Use Norton Disk Doctor or ERD Commander.

What kind of computer are you using? As long as you haven't overwritten the files or did a secure erase that prevents file recovery you should be ok, just don't use the USB drive at all until you get the software. If you can't find any free software maybe your school. job or a friend will have some.

Are you talking about a USB hard Drive, or a USB Thumb Drive? I don't think you can recover deleted files from a thumb drive.

There are many softwares available that are called undelete softwares coz they undelete files and folders deleted, given that no file has been copied or moved to the original place of the file to be recovered... Many websites offering undelete softwares are providing an extensive info on how these things work which I suggest that you please read to fully understand...

P.S> Kindly do a google search on these softwares using keywords such as "undelete files" or "file recovery programs".... Other than that, download sites like download.com would provide you with different softwares related to your query...

Hope I helped!

i imagine that you're SOL except you saved a backup of the files. Sorry. Been there done that. that's because you try to get over a USBchronic. do not imagine that Vista or any Win OS sends files to a temporary preserving position like "recycle bin" at the same time as the files are deleted from a USBchronic.

there's no use of asking because if it either end in the recycle bin or in the history.. if not you cannot retrieve those
