It's bogus, like all spirituality and religions, but I find it to be the least harmful of the major ones. There are certain Zen principles that attempt to clear away the BS and re-establish contact with the here and now, and that's pretty unique in the realms of woo woo.

Buddhism seems OK as far as a know... If I were to choose any religion I would pick buddhism. It seems to be the least harmful and most loving of all the other organized belief systems. "BUT" I can't see buddhism or any other religion more than a tool of leaders. The truth of oppressed masses and a fallacy for the wise.

I do not believe in religion or that there is a God. But I have investigated the matter a fair bit and have to conclude Buddhism is not a religion.... It makes no direct reference to a God.

There are Buddhist religions like Zen, Mahayana and Tibetan, that are a blend of Buddhist philosophy and local beliefs and rituals.

Buddha was not a god and never ask anyone to worship him or anything for that matter.

If anyone is interested read the dharmapada. It is meant to be buddha's teachings (all other books are teaching by other masters). This is just a book about how to live in harmony with nature, other's and yourself. It may seem a bit restrictive by our modern standards, but it is about how to be at complete peace with ones self.

Buddha was an atheist who denied the existence of soul
He preached freethought
But Buddhism is just like other religions

I think it's pretty hot! I'm a temporary atheist. When I find the coolest faith out there, you know the trend-setting one that'll get me into all the clubs, I'll let you know what I think of atheists.
Buddhism is like totally hott, like pink shirts and chihuahuas. That fat dood with the 3rd eye is totally roxxors, LOL! Man I'd like to pad his thai if you know what I mean! I'm very sympathetic towards it.
I'm just not so keen about *some* of the Hindu ways it has.
