I recently had a few people tell me that my diet was unhealthy and i want to know if it is and why? I said it consisted of fruit and yogurt for breakfast, fruit/vegetable and slimfast for lunch, and vegetables, protein shake and cottage cheese for dinner as well as a vitamin. I dont see the problem, i get all of my dairy servings from the cheese, slimfast, and milk in the protein shake as well as the shake. These same food items give me more than 100% of the protein i need. I am getting my fruit and vegetable servings as well as my carbs. I also am getting all of the essential vitamins.

Maybe you should add a couple slices of whole wheat bread into your diet. Your body needs to have SOME fat also, for digestion, hair and skin. For dinner you may want to try something more filling that is full of protein, Mexican Rice and beans with melted cheese and some pepperchini slices, providing you like Mexican food. Are you a vegetarian?

its sounds okay, everyones body is different, also what you do veryday is different. most people should eat their carbs in the morning because thats when you need your energy for work or school. but if you dont do anything in the morning but sit at home all day and watch tv or something you dont need carbs at that time of day. also people think carbs are bad some carbs are bad there really just bad bcause the way you eat them, carbs have to be worked off or they turn to fat, if you dont exercise you wont burn your carbs. now as far as the shakes i would just drink water and eat somthing low in cal. fish is also a great food to eat but i see you didnt say anything about meat are you a veggie. or do you think meat is fating, red meat (cow) is not good to eat more than once a week, it takes a long time to digest and ends up into fat. ham is ok but i prefer chicken and fish, tillipia is a good kind of fish, not all fish taste the same i dont like tuna (unless its tuna saland) its too fishy tasting anyways try and eat different things try new healthy foods, but if you like your diet dont let anyone discurage you.

it's not very balanced, there is no protein in the first 2 meals (slim fast is sugar water).

you need to ingest proteins with every meal, eat a LOT more fiber (from complex carbs like lentils, beans, oats, etc). and you need a lot more fat in your diet. I don't see any monounsaturated fat or any omega 3 & 6 fatty acids..

Sounds good to me, but I'm no expert. If you really want to know if it's a good diet for you then talk to a nutritionist. We all have certain requirements based on our age, physical condition and other factors.

You don't have any grains, you don't have much fiber, and you don't have a wide range of foods. If you are below about 1,200 calories a day, depending on height and weight, your body will shut down.
