hello shaun
its more boring than work believe me!
Just watch all the films, they have little computer games to play too, like tetris etc. Try to get some sleep which i hard on a flight i know.
Oh yeah, the booze is free all the way you'll be pleased to know!! But i found that just gave me a weird hangover hours later. At least you're not flying on your own, i've done it 3 times on my own, and that is boring!!

You'll have a little TV in the seatback facing you, and lots of movies to watch. You'll only get bored towards the end of the flight, probably the last 5 hours or so. Just watch as many movies as you can stand. Then sleep as much as you can.
Or ... if you have a PSP, you can play games for the whole flight and the time will fly by!

I know that airlines out of UK have seat with its own seatback TVs so you can watch the latest movies, comedy, sports, dramas and so much more (many channels to choose from), listen to music and even play games on the TV, and then there's video on demand (ear phone will be provided). You can stand up and walk around the airplane, as a matter of fact, they encouraged you to get up and stretch your legs.
If you were to travel first class, it's even better. Your seat turns into a flat bed, you get sheets, pillow and blanket, champagne for breakfast, you can get massage, newspaper and much much better food. Then, there's also a lounge where you can mingle with other first class travelers.
The airlines anticipate a long flight, so they go out of there way to make sure that their passengers are comfortable and entertained. If what the airline have on board is not enough for you, then bring book(s) to read, your own ipod, and/or video games for your entertainment.

Hi, I have done the flight three times. It is not as hard as it sounds as almost all airlines have dozens of movies and television programs to watch. Most people have given good advice. I just want to make sure you know a visa is required for travel, working holiday or just holiday.
Go to http://www.visabureau.com/australia/
You can obtain either if need be.
Dont worry you will be fine and you will love Australia

1) Drink lots of water and moisturise your skin & keep away from all alcohol.
2)Wear loose clothes and comfortable shoes
3) Bring several copies of National Geographic. Great reading and information!
4)Buy some puzzler magazines as though they are trivial they can also help pass the time for you.
5) Providing your airline permits you bring some nice tasty sandwiches with you as all airline food is generally tasteless.
6) Buy Bill Bryson's book on Australia....it's hilarious! Well worth reading and I was only sorry that I started to read it whilst on my way back from Oz!

Crosswords, patience (as with cards), read, hear music, watch the movies, eat, write events on your journal. If you try a little bit of everything, you will find the time will fly and boredom won't set in. Have a nice trip to the beautiful country I live in.

I deal with long, droning 5-7 hr flights all the time.
20 hours????? whew...... take 2 carry ons.
My list: Soduko, GAME BOY, an intense book (horror, thriller, crime), healthy snacks (fruit), ear plugs for pressure, small blanket, mp3, laptop (if you have one) with some movies, rubix cube, hot cocoa packs, sleeping pill (if able to sleep at all) and EAR PHONES for the movie (easy to sneak)

sleeping pills might help with the second part ov your trip
then maybe take a laptop or a hand help device that you can play on eg. nintendo DS or the sony PSP, or maybe take a portable DVD player (or ipod)
to answer this question the best people might need to know more about ur interests

If your plane breaks down like mine did, then it's more like a 30 hour flight! Just sleep - that's all I did.

Sleeping would use the most time, however, chatting up an air hostess with the aim of joining the mile high club would be more exciting.
