Hi, I'm trying to write an article for a college magazine about the ill effects of tobacco. Someone told me hookah has less tobacco hence it's not as harmful, but I disagree. Can anyone give me some articles to support my theory? And whats the truth about Hookahs?

As far as I know, it is water that acts as a filter, Something like getting the good stuff by downward displacement of water, and the bad stuff is dissolved in water, So you don't have to inhale it.

i have read that hookah you get more nicotene, so i dunno bout that... they way it works is the cool heats up the sheesha in the bowl, and lets it burn slowly, the smoke is drawn down a tube into water. and bubbles up to the surface of the chamber and than travels through the hose to the person...if the person puts a filter it is in the tube. it seems complicated, but it realy isnt... a bong/bubbler or "tobacco pipe" is like a simple version,
