is there any way you can choose the sex of a child, is there certain things to eat or do. i have a son and want a daughter but the love would be unconditional either way. i only wanted 2 children as i don't think i could afford more than that and think it's wrong to have more than you can honestly afford but always wanted a daughter

don't get me wrong a son would be great too

This is a question that has been researched for centuries. While there is no full proof method for the natural conception of one gender or the other, there are some more accepted methods for raising your chances.

It is typically accepted that sperm carrying the male chromosomes swim faster and die faster then those carrying female chromosomes. It is thought that if you have sex as close to ovulation as possible you greatly increase your chances of conceiving a boy. Also, it is thought that if you have sex about 3 days before you ovulate and then abstain from intercourse again, you increase your chances of having a girl.

Another factor that is widely accepted is that the sperm for a female is hardier then that for a male, and can handle a much more acidic environment. There are certain douches that some sites and fertility books suggest. However, douching at any time is not medically recommended. I suggest you go to http://www.fertilityfriend.com and do a bit of reading there, they have a very extensive library. Good luck to you!

Yes there is a way, I saw it on a talk show, Montel. It's not 100% of course, but very close. Ask your doctor. I think it was something like, some tests they do to see if the baby will inherit sicknesses that run in the family. When they do this test they can also determine the sex.

Aside from messing with the genetics, not really.

Although there is a method out their for conceiving a specific gender. It explains how fast the male/female sperm swim and when the best time to have sex to conceive that gender is.

Worked for a friend of mine. She had 3 boys and wanted a girl. She got it :)

The only thing I have ever heard about possibly causing the sex of the child is that during intercourse the penis is pushed as far as possible and held there during ejaculation. Who knows. Good luck.

Talk to your doctor. There's a way to increase the odds of a certain sex by processing the sperm.
