I mean cmon seriously. Everyone in that movie acted so lifeless and braindead throughout the whole movie.
When the movie first came out, I kept hearing everyone talking about how hilarious it was. So when it came out on dvd I rented it and watched it. I didn't find one thing funny in the entire movie. I feel sorry for that director...really I do.

Anyone who didn't think the movie was funny should quit taking crack!
It was brilliant! The reason it is funny is because it is the story of, dare I say, "weird" individual living in a small deserted town going through all of the activities and experiences any other person goes through during their teen years. What's funnier is that he has a very unique family, with Kip and Uncle Rico (who could throw a pig skin quarter mile) lol
Let me guess, those of you that didn't like it are the type to find films starring Chris Rock, Chris Tucker, or Martin Lawrence funny? That figures.
Napoleon Dynamite was a film that took a chance to sway from the mainstream Hollywood avenue of predictable haha funny junk comedy and found its own niche market. I think the writers and Director of Napoleon Dynamite should be commended!!
oh and to ginger1, the "actors" i chose were black by coincidence. They were the 3 "actors" that really don't make me laugh and seem to be in every B grade comedy film that comes out.
p.s. Chris Rock is terrible, especially on stand up. He should just quit all the racial jokes and leave it to the master... Dave Chappelle.

Actually, when I'm stoned, I don't find it that funny. I really liked it the first few times I've seen it, but too many VOTE FOR PEDRO t-shirts later, and it's got kinda lame. I mean, dang, Target are sellin' them. It depends on your sense of humour I suppose. In Napoleon Dynamite, it's all avout the suttle things, that makes it so funny. If your more into more obvious, cack yourself comedy, then this isn't your movie. I don't know why you'd feel sorry for the director though, he must be rooling in dough by now, whether you like it or not, this is a cult classic, and a LOT of people love it.

You'd need to smoke a few fields full I think. I couldn't finish it, the movie that is. Not funny, no matter how many times you repeat the same lame joke. Blech.
And no, I do not find Chris Tucker or Martin Lawrence funny. Why all the black comedians pal? Chris Rock is funny, but just in stand up. To each their own, but this movie will be forgotten in a few years. There is nothing original about it. It tries SO hard to be quirky when all it actually is.... is dull.

You clearly don't have the right sense of humour to be watching this movie. It is a very very funny movie and it's its stupidity and lack of plot that make it so funny.
Don't feel too sorry for the director, I'm sure he is making some big money off it!
Your time would be better off spent looking for movies you actually enjoy watching instead of complaining about ones you don't!

Napoleon wins and that i could bypass into each and each of the elements that i appreciate yet i do not favor to go back off as a dork so i am going to easily say I consider you. =) Superbad is geared more suitable in route of teenage men like American Pie grow to be.

I too thought the movie was sooo overated. But, If you watch it again. It's funny. You have to match it more than once to see the humor in it. Or maybe thats just me!

You have to watch it a couple times. . . the first time you sit and try and figure out what's funny and then the second time you get it because it's so dumb it's funny. . . .keep watching it.

It was just on and I couldn't sit through the whole thing. It was just too painful to watch them make fun a level 9 master.

I feel the same way. I hated it. People say that you need to keep watching it to find it funny... which I really doubt. All I'd be thinking about is that I made the same mistake of wasting two more hours of my life on such garbage.
