honestly..i cant remember..im too busy screaming "its peanut butter jelly time, peanut butter jelly time!" and by the time i stop i have a full glass of milk as well.

Easy answer.... peanut butter.... the peanut butter is thicker than the jelly, resulting in a more stable base to spread the jelly.... If you were to try spreading the peanut butter over the jelly, it would be catastrophic........

Definatley the peanut butter. If I try to put peanut butter on top of jelly, it gets REALLY messy.
I put peanut butter on both pieces of bread, then jelly on one.

I put the jelly on first, wipe it off of the knife on the clean slice of bread, and then put the peanut butter on.
The jelly wipes off cleaner than the peanut butter, and that way there's less jar cross-contamination.
