My diet currently consists of yogurt and either a pear or banana for breakfast with my one a day weightsmart vitamin, then slimfast for lunch, with usually a salad, protein shake, and cottage cheese for dinner. The problem is the weightsmart vitamin doesny have iodine like most others, the slim fast only has 35 percent of the daily value. Am i getting the iodine i need or should i stop the wieghtsmart diet and buy one with iodine. Or are there iodine supplements?

I'm concerned that you're not taking in enough calories, actually. If your calorie intake falls too low, your body will shut down, your metabolism will tank, and you'll start surviving by cannibalizing your own muscles. Really, you need to consult someone about this, or you could harm your body.

I think salt has iodine, you can salt your food.

Whoa...you are concerned about iodine. You worries should be a whole lot more then that.

You need to eat a balanced diet, that means - diary, fruit, veggies, carbs, proteins.

The vitamin is supposed to be a supplement, not the main source of all your vitamins and minerals.

You metabolism is like a fire, if you don't give it enough fuel, it will go out.
If you don't give your body enough fuel, it will start burning calories more efficiently. You will get to a point where you will gain weight no matter how little you eat. You are on a very unhealthy path.

Hi,

Salt is fortified in Iodine (look on the label if the mention it or if the name says 'seasalt')

Be carefull, because Iodine has also a upper limit which is not that high so avoid an overdose of Iodine!!
