accept it old times sake.
people always offer friendship after they break your heart so its not really out of the ordinary.

It's okay to be friends provided how damaging the break up was. If it is too unbearable for you, then I suggest you take a break and tell her you need some time. You will know the answer when the time comes and if you still want to be friends. If it was a mutual break up, then I guess it would hurt. Sometimes people are better off as friends than in a relationship.

Say to her that you will try,
But your really not so sure,
If that really should happen-
There may be no cure.
Her wanting to stay friends with you,
Is her Not wanting to let go,
Believe me when I tell you this-
Cause I definately know.
Its not that you hate her,
Or will be her enemy,
Its just you didn't click together-
In perfect harmony.
Some space is what you need,
Not to be her friend,
She'll see you with another girl-
And you'll never hear the end.
Of how bad the person is for you,
And she not all that, you need better,
All these things are what friends are for -
She'll write to you in a letter.
So try to steer away from her,
If you possibly can,
Cause her just being your friend you see,
May just take away your "Man".
Your manly hood means alot to you,
She better not try to take it ,
Just let her find out for herself-
Shes a big girl- She will make it.
I think you agree with me somewhat, about the friends after going together. Its just weird- Really freakin weird. Don't be mean but I sure would not be her best friend either, It will work itself through, and if she gets mad- Well she can just get glad in the same jeans she got mad in! Good Luck.

Hey, my girl just broke up with me... and her reasons were not so clear, too shallow, nothing serious... she wants me to be her bestfriend instead of boyfriend, unless you love her so much... you should just let her be... Love is not all about Bf and Gf tweetums... its more of feeling complete with each others company... don't feel bad... you never lost her, you just became her friend, something she could keep forever... not like those bf's she could easily break up with... you should be happy, most close friends turn out to be lovers in the end...

That's not a good idea. You should wait until at least you guys have moved on from the relationship. If you guys broke up for a good reason,it will be too tempting to fall back in the same routine because you guys are lonely.

Walk away and don't see her for six months it sounds like you're not down with the friends thing so let the hurt feelings go and then be friends. Sometimes that's what you got to do.
Sorry homie, it's a rough thing to deal with

She is just trying to be nice, or wants to keep you on the side if the new guys she wants to date dont pan out. You cant be friends with an ex 99.9% of the time.

you cant be friends with someone you have been intimate with. you will always see signs of intimacy that when actioned will only result in pain.
women may be able to do it, but men are more carnal in nature.
say "sure", and them make sure you are not following her around like a lost puppy, try to be busy elsewhere. friends dont have to hang out to be friends.
