The interesting thing about religion is that there are so many. We must rule out all that do not have a god figure, but still there are many. They cannot all be right.
Therefore, we need to consider two things... Firstly, are all of the religions referring to the same god figure, or do they all have entirely separate ideas.
If the first case is true, then they may well all be right about god, but none of them (or at most one of them) would be right about the rules, regulations, and doctrine that this god favours. So even if there is a god, most religions will be incorrect, or all of them.
If the second case is true, and they all have separate ideas, by which I mean their god figures are all different entities the situation is a little better for, at most, one lucky religion. Either none would be correct, or at most one would be correct, and that one religion's procedures would definitely be correct, or close to it.
So it does not take an expert mathematician to see that, in all probability, there is very little likelihood that the only way to god and heaven is through jesus and the christian faith.
My personal opinion is that there may well be a god, but he keeps to himself quite alot, so you don't want to count on him in an emergency. That is a joke. I would like to think there is a nice god out there somewhere. As for religion, it is fabricated by man, largely as a tool to keep the masses in line in our barbaric past. Is it still needed? Answer my last question!!!!! I want to know if the world would be better without it!
You would be best having some faith in man, faith in nature, and faith in a spiritual power, that need not be named, who might explain our wonderous presence on this earth - a presence that we take for granted, and generally make a silly mess of!!!!
Great question. Hope you enjoyed my answer.
Take care, keep smiling. : )

God is a perfectly Holy, Righteous God who can never allow a person with any sin in his life to enter heaven. Yes, you have to be perfect to enter heaven. You say, "nobody is perfect". I agree. But if some one else has paid for your sins then, at least from a legal standpoint, you are perfect. That's what Jesus did when He was on this earth. He paid for your sins so that you can have eternal life. Why is He the Only way to God? Because sin is what obstructs you from coming to God and Jesus is the only one who paid for your sins. Neither Moses, nor Mohammad nor Buddha nor Krishna nor anyone else ever even claimed to pay for your sins. You say, "well I don't believe that". The question is not whether you believe it or not. The question is, is it true? Truth is objective. It doesn't matter whether people believe it or not. If I was standing on the beach in Thailand on december 26, 2004 and people were yelling at me that there was a tidal wave coming and I just said "I don't believe in tidal waves", would that save me? If it's not true then I don't see why you're wasting your energy bagging on christians. If what they say is not true then they're just a bunch of kooks. But if it is true, then you had better dispense with all the fancy talk and accept the only pardon while it is still offered. One thing is for sure. You're going to find out whether it is true or not sooner or later because you're going to die. The death rate is 100%. All die sooner or later. Hebrews 9:27 says " And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment".

None of these answers make much sense. Why, for instance, is a blood sacrifice nessecary for someone to be forgiven for not being "perfect" (whatever that is) in the first place? Why does (did?) God NEED a sacrifice at all? I thought only "primitive" cultures did that.
Why, in fact, did God HAVE to do anything at all? Why not just make us perfect in the first place? Why even have us go through the process of life at all instead of must making us "perfect" right there in Heaven with him? Why the elaborate song and dance? If he doesn't want robots, then why insist on a code of behavior that demands everyone act like robots (ie: Exactly the same morals, beliefs, and method of performing those beliefs)? If he wants humanity to be "unsullied" and "pure", then why not simply make us that way and leave us that way? Why set up humanity for the "Fall" at all?
The more questions you ask, the thinner and thinner the excuses become.

You can do it without JC. When you think about it, he was nothing special. Compared to Moses he was a magician doing card tricks: the hype surrounding JC is mostly things made up and added to the scripture by the Xtians that came after him.
JC only said things like "love your neighbor as yourself" and the like: he actually had a pretty good message. But then he wasn't allowed to write his own story. The Council of Nicea basically decided what went into the Bible and whether JC was a god or not. The hype around him is legend and made up scripture to support the belief that he is a messiah. If you cut that out and go back to the original scriptures, you will find he fulfills barely any.

Since you were raised in the Christian tradition, do the authors record this? Do you believe the authors?
I think the bible is clear on this point. Again you may not to believe it.
The Christian bible is for believers. Asking for alternatives for something is clearly written in the text requires some other revelation. A revelation that I do not have.
What do you believe because in the end that is all that matters.

The law of redemption requires a kinsman redeemer to redeem and claim his kinsman. When man fell there was found no kinsman redeemer for him save God. Remember in the book of Revelations chapter 5, no one was found worthy to open the book of redemption and to loose the seals thereof and John wept. He wept because there was none to redeem him and the rest of the human race but an elder came to him and said fear not for the lion of the tribe of Judah hath prevailed to open the book and then there appears the Lamb and took the book out of the right hand of God.
Jesus was the sacrificial lamb with pure blood that was needed not to cover men's sins but to take away the sins. It is the blood of Jesus that appeased and made way for man to be reconciled back to God again. Jesus is God's provided way and God did not provide any other way but the cross of calvary.

If you read the Bible, starting at the very beginning, at the fall of man, you will see the need for a perfect sacifice. The blood of bulls and goats wasn't enough for the redemsion of man. Jesus was the answer, the only answer to everything.

He is not the only way to God and heaven. Jesus came as a messenger of God to show the people of that time the path to return to heaven. People for all time have misunderstood that message. His mission has been fulfilled. The End.

Because sin deserves death. We all have sinned before, so we all deserve death. Sin is what separates man from God. There can be no sin in His presence (or with Him in Heaven). None of us have kept every commandment. His justice requires that sin receive its full penalty (death). The suffering and sacrificial death of Jesus on the cross satisfied the requirements of God’s justice. Jesus Christ died for our sins. He suffered our punishment and took our place. He was our perfect and spotless lamb because He had not sinned. He could not sin.
We deserve to die and not him, because we are the ones that have sinned. Yet, because God loved us, He sent His Son to die in our place. Because of His death we don't have to die. Jesus paid the price (death) for us to go to heaven. All we have to do is accept Him.

God is holy. Since He's holy, He cannot dwell with those who are sinful (i.e., unholy). So, in order for us to be in Heaven with God...we'd have to be perfect. None of us are. But, Jesus came and lived the perfect life that we could never live. And by placing ones trust in Christ alone, His righteous life is credited to your account & God reckons you righteous through Him. Without Christ, you'd have to stand on your own w/ your own righteousness...a righteousness that is tainted with sin. That's why we need Jesus. We can't make it without Him. We'd never be good enough.
