I hate them too, they're propaganda. The truth commercials I've seen imply that there's some big conspiracy to get people to smoke. Nobody forced me to start smoking. In fact, since I was a kid they always taught how bad smoking is

I think there is of course a lot of truth to these commercials... the delivery is a little cheesy and I do agree that they are trying to make it look like there is some major conspiracy going on. When I was a kid I thought it was cool to smoke, but it wasn't because of tv, etc. It was because of my friends. Once it wasn't cool anymore I was addicted... then it became very uncool.. boyfriends didn't like it, friends didn't like it.. I quit about 2 1/2 years ago (the first two weeks were hell), but I felt so much better afterwords. I can watch those commercials now and be less annoyed because I don't smoke, but I can see it from the other side also. They are a little corny!

I know this question is old, but the newest addition to the "Truth" commercial repertoire is so stupid, it demanded I weigh in. Easily one of the stupidest I've ever seen, this whole "Left Swipe" thing is abysmal. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. First off, you've got what looks to be a 35-40 year old white guy with a humongous beard surrounded by an entire table of food, RAPPING about the body of a gorgeous 19 year old (who wouldn't look twice at him) he apparently found on a dating website. He goes on to rap about how HE can't go out with HER because she's smoking a cigarette in one of her photos. Then, as he continues rapping, you have a black guy repeating the last word in every stanza, in a very seemingly stereotypical, racist, and incoherent manner. Without a doubt, one of the most annoying commercials I've seen in a long time. The whole thing really just pisses me off to tell you the "Truth"

OK this is how I look at it:

ALL commercials are manipulative otherwise they'd be useless.
On the other hand:
Nicotine is EXTREMELY addictive and the combination of ingredients in tobacco WILL cause a slow and PAINFUL death.

I hate them with a passion. If someone wants to smoke cigs, pipe or an occasional good cigar, who the hecks business is it anyway? We are not free anymore, can't talk on your cell, while driving. Can't smoke in a bar, while you are enjoying a drink. It's just getting rediculous. Pretty soon you will not be able to drink or smoke in your own home, if you have children..Good Luck..

Those commercials are total bullshit. Smokers made the choice to smoke, knowing that they kill. If you die, it's your own damn fault. There's some Truth...

I did when I smoked which was the biggest mistake of my life. I smoked for 6 years and have been clean almost 30 months...I stopped 'cold turkey' for my kids and to better my walk with God. Plus I was getting sick of not being able to breath and feeling like I was going to pass out!
