My question is, if today the Ka'abah is NUKED.

What will you be praying to? And where will allah be?

How are you going to perform your haj and how are you going to pray 5 times a day, facing where???

So, your religion depends on something tangible right? Without the stone at Mecca, you have no religion. Isn't this right? Or do you think you can do without the Ka'abah?

One of the foremost requirements of a muslim is to perform the haj at the Ka'abah. Doesn't this mean that if the Ka'abah is NUKED, islam will instantly CEASE to exist?

mlaheji is talking crap here. How can the world end if the Ka'abah is nuked unless the muslims nuke the whole world?

But let's take one thing at a time. If the Ka'abah is nuked and GONE, how will you continue as a muslim? Use stones from your backyard?

2007-01-14 18:47:01 · update #2

I said GONE, meaning the stone or qibla is also gone. So how? Are the muslims going to replace it with a piece of rock from their own backyards? Otherwise, even if you rebuild it, it will be empty and it will NOT be the same.

Thanks for the quote Ali, we shall see if allah is more powerful or the NUKE is more powerful.

Ka'abah is a building..a mosque..Thats all,Ka'abah is our "Qibla"
Qibla=Direction
Kissing stone is a tradition,it can not profit neither harm anyone
But that is a sacred mosque, and no one can nuke it in my opinion
Allah tells us of story of a king who tried to destroy Kabaa..
"Surah 105. The Elephant
1. Seest thou not how thy Lord dealt with the Companions of the Elephant?

2. Did He not make their treacherous plan go astray?

3. And He sent against them Flights of Birds,

4. Striking them with stones of baked clay.

5. Then did He make them like an empty field of stalks and straw, (of which the corn) has been eaten up. "

Why don't you read Quran and you would get answers!!
Allah says in Quran
Chapter 9 verses 2-3
"....., but know ye that ye cannot frustrate Allah (by your falsehood) but that Allah will cover with shame those who reject Him.

3. And an announcement from Allah and His Messenger, to the people (assembled) on the day of the Great Pilgrimage,- that Allah and His Messenger dissolve (treaty) obligations with the Pagans. If then, ye repent, it were best for you; but if ye turn away, know ye that ye cannot frustrate Allah. And proclaim a grievous penalty to those who reject Faith. "

Dear Brother. There should NOT be any insult in posing a question. From your question, I belief U have ZERO knowledge about Muslim / ISLAM. Muslim does not treat Kaaba as an altar / as an object to pray at. Kaaba is only a symbol of direction for the Muslim to face when performing the prayer. Even, if without the Kaaba, the Muslim still able to pray to the same direction as the Prayer for the Muslim is not a pray to an object, idol, statue or any of its kind. The prayer for the Muslim is to ALLAH Almighty. Kaaba may vanish, BUT, not ALLAH. When Kaaba vanish, the entire world also vanish together.

Kaaba is the Qibla i.e. the direction Muslims face during their prayers. It is important to note that though Muslims face the Kaaba during prayers, they do not worship the Kaaba. Muslims worship and bow to none but Allah.

It is mentioned in Surah Baqarah:

"We see the turning of thy face (for guidance) to the heavens: now shall We turn thee to a Qiblah that shall please thee. Turn then thy face in the direction of the Sacred Mosque: wherever ye are, turn your faces in that direction."
[Al-Qurâ€â„¢an 2:144]

1. Islam believes in fostering unity

For instance, if Muslims want to offer Salaah (Prayer), it is possible that some may wish to face north, while some may wish to face south. In order to unite Muslims in their worship of the One True God, Muslims, wherever they may be, are asked to face in only one direction i.e. towards the Kaaba. If some Muslims live towards the west of the Kaaba they face the east. Similarly if they live towards the east of the Kaaba they face the west.

2. Kaaba is at the Centre of the World Map

The Muslims were the first people to draw the map of the world. They drew the map with the south facing upwards and north downwards. The Kaaba was at the centre. Later, western cartographers drew the map upside down with the north facing upwards and south downwards. Yet, Alhamdullilah the Kaaba is at the centre of the world map.

3. Tawaaf around Kaaba for indicating one God

When the Muslims go to Masjid-e-Haram in Makkah, they perform tawaaf or circumambulation round the Kaaba. This act symbolizes the belief and worship of One God, since, just as every circle has one centre, so also there is only one Allah (swt) worthy of worship.

4. Hadith of Umar (may Allah be pleased with him)

Regarding the black stone, hajr-e-aswad, there is a hadith (tradition), attributed to the illustrious companion of the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh), Umar (may Allah be pleased with him).

According to Sahih Bukhari, Volume 2, book of Hajj, chapter 56, H.No. 675. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I know that you are a stone and can neither benefit nor harm. Had I not seen the Prophet (pbuh) touching (and kissing) you, I would never have touched (and kissed) you".

5. People stood on Kaaba and gave the adhaan
At the time of the Prophet, people even stood on the Kaaba and gave the â€Ëœadhaanâ€â„¢ or the call to prayer. One may ask those who allege that Muslims worship the Kaaba; which idol worshipper stands on the idol he worships?

The Kaabah is a building built as the first mosque. If it was destroyed, God would still be in existence. God does not rely on a building. He relies in nothing. We rely on him.

Muslims do not pray to the Kaabah, we just face it when we pray to God. When a Christian prays in church, he probably faces the altar, but he is not worshiping the altar.

Even so, the Kaabah would be rebuilt. It has been done before and can be done again. The Hajj would just be delayed until the nuclear fallout cleared as it did in Hiroshima.

we dont pray to the kaaba...the reason we pray in that direction is for unity.

we dont always know the direction of the kaaba without a compass. in that case we can pray in whatever direction. the point is that we are not worshipping the kaaba. i hope you are intelligent enough to understand what i am saying. if not please tell me and i will try to further explain.

my religion does not depend on the kaaba. i'll pretend for a second that something like that does happen just for the sake of argument. we would still pray. islam would not end because of that and its a little ridiculous that you think so. no, we would not set up stones in our backyard, thats just random
