I would take no for an answer,
Just to know I heard you speak,
And I'm wondering why I've never,
Seen the signs they claim they see,
A lotta special revelations,
Meant for everybody but me,
Maybe I don't truly know You,
or maybe I just simply believe...

Now I've never felt the presence,
But I know You're always near,
And I've never heard the calling,
But somehow You've led me right here,
So I'm not lookin' for burnin' bushes,
Or some Divine graffiti to appear,
I'm just beggin You for Your wisdom,
And I believe You're puttin' some here

Speaking as a born again Christian, I do not care for those lyrics. They don't sing the praises of God. They don't uplift Him. It's basically like all the other so called Christian songs of today....they make the listener feel goody goody inside.

The "You're" and "You" could mean anything but God.
You could be singing about anyone or anything. These days Contemporary Christian songs have left the traditional road of hymns and worship.

There's nothing in this song to truly set it apart from secular songs. Someone who doesn't know the story of Moses wouldn't know anything about the burning bush or as mentioned "divine graffiti" (which is a horrible way to put it).

In relationship with man, God is all powerful, all knowing. So the songs that we sing to Him should be ultra special. As special as He is, honoring Him and glorifying Him. The music shouldn't be the same as we are listening to on the radio. Our Church buildings are the same as we live in, they are built for the purpose of worshiping God. Just as the Bible that we read is special and shouldn't be turned into cheap reading material that we get at bookstores. So the music is an extension of our faith and our enduring hope.

Final Note: Worship isn't suppose to be about us...it's suppose to be about God. If the songs are about us more than about God then we're worshiping Man and not God. Like "How Great Thou Art", "Take My Life and Let it Be", "Blessed Assurance", "Be Thou My Vision", "Amazing Grace", "Tis Midnight an On Olive's Brow",or "Tell Me The Story of Jesus". These songs, like so many other "old" hymns tell us the Character of God, the relationship with Him, and His everlasting Grace. The nature of salvation like in the song "There Is Power in the Blood". And how we are cleansed by the blood, these things can't be found in modern christian music.

Take Care~
Amanda

Sounds to me like a song of faith. We don't have to see signs and wonders to believe in faith that He is who He is.
That was very inspired by God, because I have often felt that way myself and wondered if any others felt like that too. Thankyou.

Yea it's pretty good as long as you enjoy singing it. Try to add musical instruments to it.
