I just had a fractured tooth removed and boy did it ever hurt. Before I got to the dentist, I was taking 5 200mg ibuprofins at a time. Took the pain away for about 3 hours each time. But I had to get the tooth out because the pills were messing up my stomach. My sugestion would be to go to the ER and have them perscribe you antibiotics and some pain medication. Either 800mg of motrin or vicoden. The antibiotic will clear the infection that you probably have and the pain will lighten up. In the mean time, save some money and get to that dentist!!!

You could have an infected tooth, abcessed, or fractured. I don't think there is any resolution except to see a dentist. Is there a dental school in your city or nearby? If you go to the dental school, they take patients real cheap.
