This Employment Contract shall become effective upon the signing by both parties on the date, month and year first above written and made in 3 (three) duplicates, consisting of 2 (two) adequately stamped *originals*, 1 (one) non-stamped *original*. I would think there can only be one original.

I would have "shall come into effect" instead of "become effective" and I don't think "first above written" sounds clear at all. And, what IS in three duplicates? Sounds like it's the day, month, and year?

It would be a pro noun the word contract is assumed
