It sounds like your fuel level sensor is out. I own a Chevy blazer and mine went out right before my fuel pump went out, but they are one and the same on my car. So I can't tell you for sure, my husband could probably answer for sure. But I would take it to a trust worthy mechanic that you know won't rip you off.

Drop the fuel tank and change the fuel level sensor. A lot of times it is called a float.

If its's the mid shift tank, the float has gasoline in and stays at the bottom, change the float if it does. If you have 2 tanks and it doesn't read on any one of them it's something else like the guage in the dash.

gas pump stress could be 40-40 5 PSI. with out the costly tester at your disposal it is impossible to attempt what your gas stress is. replace filter out first if it has not these days been replaced. before installation a sparkling gas pump attempt for capacity to gas pump, capacity sign stops approximately 3 seconds after key grew to become on so which you will want somebody else to cycle key on.
