Nizoral shampoo. This used to be RX only but there is now an OTC strength available. Works quickly and after about 2-3 shampoos the dandruff is gone.

As someone who's suffered with dandruff my entire life, I tried absolutely every shampoo on the market, only to find out that products like Head and Shoulders, and other "dandruff" relieving and reducing shampoo's only seem to create more dandruff. The key is to make up your own mix of shampoo. Once you mix it, it will keep for about a month (any longer, and it starts to develop a strong odor). It gets rid of even the toughest dandruff!
To make your shampoo you need: Tea Tree Oil Shampoo (can be purchased at most grocery, health food, and discount stores)
Salicylic Acid Shampoo (most drug stores carry it, Walgreens makes a generic one that's excellent)
Salt (regular plain table salt)
Coconut Oil (most grocery stores and health food stores carry it)
Pour 3 ounces of Salicylic Acid shampoo and 3 ounces of the tea tree oil shampoo into a bottle. Shake well. Add in 1 ounce of coconut oil (if you buy the solid kind, liquify it before adding it to the mixture). Shake well. Add 5-6 teaspoons of salt. Shake well.
How to use it: wet hair, lather well, leave on hair for 3-5 minutes. Rinse well. Towel dry hair only slightly, avoid using a blow dryer (which dries out your hair, and irritates your scalp). Use every other day, and if you feel a need to wash your hair every day, use a mild shampoo (such as a baby shampoo like No More Tears) on the in between days. You can also apply a thin layer of liquified coconut oil straight to your scalp (where your hair would part down the middle) using a comb, if you are still seeing a lot of dandruff.

Dandruff may be a sign of candida, but it is also normal to get dandruff when the seasons change. I only get dandruff when fall turns to winter. That sudden temperature change really dries my skin and scalp. I use Head & Shoulders and it works great. I'd try it first. Good Luck!
