ECC 9:1 So I reflected on all this and concluded that the righteous and the wise and what they do are in God's hands, but no man knows whether love or hate awaits him. 2 All share a common destiny--the righteous and the wicked, the good and the bad, the clean and the unclean, those who offer sacrifices and those who do not.

As it is with the good man,
so with the sinner;
as it is with those who take oaths,
so with those who are afraid to take them.

ECC 9:3 This is the evil in everything that happens under the sun: The same destiny overtakes all. The hearts of men, moreover, are full of evil and there is madness in their hearts while they live, and afterward they join the dead. 4 Anyone who is among the living has hope--even a live dog is better off than a dead lion!

ECC 9:5 For the living know that they will die,
but the dead know nothing;
they have no further reward,
and even the memory of them is forgotten.

ECC 9:6 Their love, their hate
and their jealousy have long since vanished;
never again will they have a part
in anything that happens under the sun.

ECC 9:7 Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for it is now that God favors what you do. 8 Always be clothed in white, and always anoint your head with oil. 9 Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love, all the days of this meaningless life that God has given you under the sun-- all your meaningless days. For this is your lot in life and in your toilsome labor under the sun. 10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.

Solomon was wise. He sought for wisdom more than any treasures yet what angels and wise men and prophets have desired to look into....happened only in the time of the apostles when Jesus was with them.
When wisdom showed himself as a person.
When Jesus has come in the flesh!

They all have desired to see His day, the fulfillment of God's purposes that the Holy Spirit was indicating to them but not in full.

So there shouldn't be any argument if people would people would preach more about the Gospel... The Wisdom Books are witnesses for Jesus, because the world did not know Him.

First, the book of Ecclesiastes is from the Holy Scriptures (Jewish bible, Old Testament). There are twelve chapter which you have quote only a few verses. For me, the most important phrase is "chasing the wind".

No one is stopping anyone from reading the book of Ecclesiastes; in fact, there is a popular song using material from the third chapter. The book of Ecclesiastes is of the one books that makeup the bible, and most Christians has read it at least once.

Jesus asked his disciples to teach all nations. You can find the Christian message contained in the New Testament. Jesus is a Rabbi and he definitely know the "writings". He never once taught from this book (if anyone has found a reference otherwise, please let me know). Jesus also does not quote for the book of Ruth. That does not mean these books are unimportant, it merely means that do not support Jesus as being the Jewish Messiah.

Personally the book of Ecclesiastes is one of my favorites especially in my prayer life. All twelve chapters provide a comforting perspective especially when things become difficult. No one has ever asked me to study it with them. Maybe that is because it is down to earth, so realistic.

The key phrase in these scriptures is 'under the sun'. In fact the whole book of Ecc, talks about matters under the sun without God's or the heavenly perspectives. It describes the outcome and consequences of all who do not trust and believe in God. The answer is when you know God the outcome is different from what is described in Ecc. It is a book for athiest to ponder about.

In Ecclesiastes King Solomon wrote that we all live life and then we all die. In the Song of Solomon he shows us the meaning of life in spiritual metaphor. In chapter 5 he tells us of the one who waits too long when the one whom she loves calls for her to open the door. She doesn't get up right away and go to the door, she has changed her clothes, washed her feet. How can she get them dirty again? We can wait too long to answer the call of God. When she opens the door he is gone and all that is left is the smell of myrhh where his hand has touched the door handle. She goes out into the street and calls for him but he doesn't answer. She is met by the night watchmen who smite her and take away her veil.

Our chance to repent can be gone before we know it. In the wisdom of Solomon there is the story of one who did wait too long. There is still time now but no one knows when time will run out.

It is the truth. We get one life. Make the most of it. The negative tone Solomon has is due to his regret for wasting his life. He had made poor choices and spent his whole life seeking his own pleasure. He still retained his God given wisdom and wrote about living a well rounded life, keeping in mind no one lives forever. And don't forget life goes by in the blink of an eye.

this could be a tiring argument. via fact Christians have a strict code or set of rules they suspect in, in the event that they fail to persist with or stay hence, they're generally stated as hypocrits. while if somebody has no set of ideals they persist with they are able to't be a hypocrit. in spite of the shown fact that, to me a hypocrit is somebody who preaches that others ought to stay a undeniable way while they do no longer. while you're speaking approximately Christians who're calling you a sinner or a undesirable guy or woman considering which you do no longer persist with what you think, while they are no longer following what they suspect, then they're hypocrits. I agree that folk should not be attempting to push what they suspect down human beings's throats. yet, that does no longer propose i think of they ought to have the ability to point out it. absolutely everyone ought to easily admire others for their determination to the two want to take heed to or no longer. I actual do no longer decide others negatively in basic terms via fact they do no longer have faith in God or have faith as I do, yet i'm additionally no longer a hypocrit via fact i do no longer prepare each thing i've got faith in. Christianity is for the sinner, or the imperfect guy or woman. we heavily isn't appropriate, via fact of this they suspect interior the will of a Savior/Christ. We shouldn't carry Christians to a pair bigger point of morality or regulations then we impose upon ourselves, no rely if nonreligious or of a distinctive faith. desire i did no longer ramble and make experience.

The Christian church DO, preach this often. Mans life points towards the day when he will put of this earthly coil.

We will then have past from life to face the Judgement. We have the opportunity now before death to lock in our destiny. That is why Jesus Christ, came to set man free from the judgement to come.

Do you want to pass from death to life? asking Gods forgiveness and asking Jesus to be Lord of your Life is the way to do it.

Although the writer lacks a clear perspective of heaven, he does recognize that God the Creator has made a world in which joy is to be found in the daily rounds of life. Our unanswered questions should not prevent us from finding that joy.
