In general, i'd have to go with Tim, but if it's for a baby name,or something,i'd say it depends on the last name and which sounds better with it. Timothy Adam is a possibility,though.

I prefer Adam.
The name Adam means "Of the earth". Tim, short for Timothy means "To honor God".

William is one of my favorite names but of the two you've chosen my opinion is Adam
however I like Timothoy as a full name, I'm not quite as fond of the nickname Tim
