I just had myself a thought the other day. Most homosexuals would like to convince you that what they do behind closed doors is a perfectly natural phenomenon, yes? Many go ahead and believe that theory (I'm calling it theory since it hasn't been scientifically established as hardcore fact yet), while the rest would think that there's no reason a sexual creature would be born to be attracted to the same sex, since being so would be harmful to the species. Many (if not most) of the people who don't think that homosexuality is natural also profess that homosexuality is a horrible sin, and that saying "it's how God made me" only makes matters worse. Here is my thought; if the human race is a naturally sinful species, why couldn't being born inescapably gay fall under that category? If we humans are born to be liars, cheaters, thieves, murderers and the like, why not gay? What do you guys think? Please (civilly) discuss.

And that is EXACTLY why I asked this question in here instead of the gay/lesbian section. I can't tell how interesting or uninformed my idea is according to my OWN standards, but I know for a fact that absolutely NO ONE in that section would read this without thinking I'm a hateful son-of-a-*****, which just isn't the case. :P Most Christians recognize themselves as sinners anyway, so they might be able to swallow this idea better than anyone else.

You're right about that
BUT...
Just like any sin, you have a choice to flee or commit
Sin is not encoded into our DNA
Homosexuality is a perversion of what God originally made man to be, sin is the same way,
BUT...
If homosexuality is a sin, then the sin wouldnt be encoded in our genes.
I also dont beleive that people are born with an exact behavior for sin, but that the behavior developes with life
so homosexuality may be influence at an early age
(due to porn, some people might have got bored and tried something new)
but we werent born with it.
of course we were born into sin, but not with sin

Oh dear. Where do I start?
Homosexuality is natural for homosexuals, just like heterosexuality is natural for you. It's just how the brain is wired. However - it doesn't matter if you can accept that. See, other's people's sexuality is *none of your business*.
The reasons behind it aren't fully understood yet - some have theorized that those who don't produce offspring themselves can focus on the group as a whole and increase the survival rate of all individuals. So there may be a biological reason, even though it's not immediately apparent.
Sin is a religious concept, and a ridiculous one to consider here.
Whether to steal or not is a moral decision - if you steal, somebody else gets hurt. Anybody can make the decision. Sexual orientation is not a choice (if you think it is, does it mean at some point you realized you were attracted to both males and females and decided to act on one of them only? please tell us about that) and has nothing to do with morality.
This bears repeating: sexual orientation has nothing to do with morality.
In conclusion:
* not immoral
* not unnatural
* none of your business
(I really am being as nice as I can - and by the way, I'm hetero, I'm just religion-free)

It is obvious to me that you don't know anything about the biology of sex. Sex is far more complicated than a mere tool for procreation. Read Sperm Wars by Robin Baker and you will be enlightened.
Conversely, I would argue that liars, cheats, and the like are only evil because society terms them as so. From a scientific standpoint they are benefiting from their "evil" behavior and so it continues. Homosexuality does not really compare because the urge to have sex is a biological drive like eating or sleeping and cannot simply be modified by a change in attitude.

It's kinda difficult to start a "(civilly) discussion" after you just compared homosexuals to "liars, cheaters, thieves, murderers and the like".
Let me leave it at this: Is there anything more unnatural than the supernatural?

First off homosexuality is considered a sin
1 Timothy 1
" 8 We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. 9 We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, 10 for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers. And it is for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine 11 that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me. "
I don't believe that people are born gay. I think when people say that, it's an excuse to take responsibility from ones self for making the decision.
I think it is a conscious choice one makes, for whatever their reasons may be.

I don't know. Many people fear what they don't understand or makes them uncomfortable, so I'm guessing that the ones who call it a horrible sin really just don't understand the attraction.
