Just go where there are guys and let nature take it's course. Volunteer in the community, go to church, go to see music you like, go to a bar, throw parties, move in with a sociable roomate. There are plenty of guys asking the same question as you that would love to meet you. All you gotta do is get up and get out. If you have some social anxiety talk to the doctor about it.

I'm guessing that you aren't very out going if you have never had a boyfriend. Is it because of your appearance or because you just never gave anyone the chance to be with you? Either way, im thinking you should sign up for those online profiles and meet people and get to know someone. Remeber to post up a picture. It doesnt hurt to try. Your 27, you neeeeeeed to settle down in a few years. Enjoy your life before you get older.

If you are interested in someone casually make eye contact with them and get to know them. If you have any escuse to give him a gift do it and put your number at the bottom of it in a cute little love letter telling him that you are interested in him.

I'm 37 and I've never had a girlfriend, so your situation is not desperate yet.
