I'd card you.

It really doesn't matter how old you look.

I used to work the door at several big nightclubs in Chicago. Bars caught serving minors could lose their license. Period. End of business. Even if the person had an I.D. that looked legitimate it could belong to an older brother or sister as the case may be.

Perhaps I am overstating the risks from the bars point of view, but if you let a minor drink and you got caught the penalties could include a permanent loss of license, a court date, arrest of the minor and, if the minor had a traffic accident while under the influence, enormous insurance liability.

So the guy at the door does not want to get fired, right. If he's not sure how old you are? Away you go.

And this is totally unfair, but if he's going to take a chance, its going to be on a hot friendly girl. Sorry.

But a lot of the time at smaller clubs, the owner is right there, or within 10-20 feet of the entrance watching who comes in. He/she wants to keep his business, you know.

So if you are old enough, just have that I.D. ready, it is nothing personal. If you are getting unfairly bounced, get a passport. They are much harder to get, have severe penalties for being forged and are very respected at the door of most places. And make sure that picture looks like YOU. Most states also issue State I.D.'s where they issue driver's licenses. Why not get one. Two I.D.'s are better and more convincing than one.

Again, it doesn't always matter how old you look. I always carded anyone who looked under 25, and on nights when we heard the police were checking hard in the neighborhood 30.

You can help by acting nice and polite at the door and dressing well. Sometimes age is used as an excuse to screen out someone under dressed, acting like a jerk, or already inebriated.

From your tiny photo you could be anywhere from sixteen to twenty five. I don't know where you live but in Canada everyone who looks like they could be under 30 gets carded just in case because of the HUGE fines, I'm not sure about people who work in bars but if you sell cigarettes to a person under 18, the cashier personally can get slapped with a huge fine!! So do not be offended just whip your ID out. Just wait until you don't get carded any more. I got asked for ID at a concert beer garden and I said "huh? look at my wrinkles" and the guy who looked like he was eighteen just shrugged and waved me in. Yeah that felt really great.
