actually it is true. most the time it is you submitting yourself. and most the time like running at first you do it out of flesh then the Spirit takes over. but dont take my word for it. i know the truth. our church believes huge on the Holy Ghost most churches dont preach about it. we believe when you are filled you are letting the Holy Ghost control you. you are letting go of your flesh. most people get scared as this starts to happen because we dont like not being in control. and most preach against it because the Bible says these things will seize. however it does not say when. in fact it says it is for those as far as God chooses to call on.

anyways what does the Bible say. well acts. it was simply put that they thought the people were drunk. how you descibe it does not that seem like they are drunk? however peter said no they are filled with the Holy Ghost. now later in acts another person who was like a witch or what not wanted to by what paul and peter had. he wanted to pay money for that gift. why because as paul and peter layed hands upon them they started to speak in another language. they did not know the language. and yet spoke it perfect. most churches i have gone to all you do is sing a couple slow songs and most the time they have a choir who sings mostly. then tithes and then sermon and that is it. the church i go to know that is apostolic, penticostal we worship God. and praise him. we sing songs that are both slow paced and fast paced we lift our hands, and between songs we praise God. tell the next one. i can only say read the Bible and most of this is in acts when it talks about people being filled with the Holy Ghost. and pray for understanding. most say you get filled when you believe in Jesus. however what does the Bible say? there is one were it says they believed and were baptized under Johns baptisam and still had not heard or gotten the Holy Ghost. they believed and still did not have the Holy Ghost. they were then commanded to be baptized in Jesus name and then after they were filled with the Holy Ghost. that is the Bible. anyways i believe it and just like healings are happening as well. do a search on aids being fully cured. not by science or medicine. it is done in the name of Jesus.

on top of what scripture says who am I to judge what God does. on top of them running around and stuff have you actually watched some. i have seen many run around with there eyes closed. we had a guy run on top of the benches with his eyes closed and then around the building. it is letting your flesh go. and trusting God. i took a class and we had to trust one another. one thing was stand on a chair that was fairly tall and just fall back into everyones arms and trust they will catch you. this act is the same. you have put trust in God that he wont hurt you and let him control you. i am not to judge what they do if it is for God or of God or not. our pastor ran around one time with 2 chairs in the way eyes closed. and he jumped over both. my wife was pregnant and was sore. however she was up front praying and she did not run or nothing but more like a dance almost. but she would bend all the way forward and all the way back. she was 7 and a half months pregnant. i know even when she is not pregnant that she cant bend like this. as i said dont just take my word for it. read scripture and ask God.

baptized with the Holy Ghost and speaking in tongues is to edify yourself. that is not the same as the gift of tongues. that is to edify a church and has an interpreter. but edifying yourself does not. in acts they did not have an interpreter.

Some people I would imagine exaggerate and like the attention. But I can tell you, from experience that the Holy Sprit is real, and you don't catch it, you receive it, it's a promised gift from God. They call it being baptized with the Holy Ghost, I prefer Holy Spirt. Anytime you have a question about things of God, and your being sincere all you have to do is pray, and the Lord will answer your pray. You can also read the Bible, you can start in Act ch. 2, this explains the first infilling of the Holy Sprit, 1Corinthians ch 12, speaks of the gifts of the sprit, speaking in tongues is used for different reasons, but mostly it is a pray language that edifies us, builds us up. The baptism of the Holy Spirt with the evidence of speaking in tongues, is what I'm talking about.

Different people respond the anointing or power of God in different ways. The outgoing and active people will respond in one way whereas the quiet and passive another. To really ascertain who is in the flesh or led by the Spirit you need spiritual discernment. You cannot really tell just by looking outwardly. God can lead people to do things that appear odd to you. We cannot put God in a box.

I agree that this is a gross exaggeration. I never read a word in the Bible about falling on the floor and rolling around and, in some radical instances, barking or laughing uncontrollably. This is not something that is in the Bible, therefore it should not be done. And, as for the Holy Ghost, He is an indwelling spirit, not something you 'catch'!

When a person excepts Christ as their Savior..They automatically receive the Father,Son and Holy Spirit(ghost)..Doing such things brings attention to themselves, and not the Christ they proclaim to worship! Misunderstanding biblical readings can lead to all kinds of activities!! You'll notice if you haven't already that most of these people are women..Understand your bible, get a commentary..Matthew Henry's is a great one..Peace and Love to you :-)

No they're not exaggerating........People are being called to the Watchman Calling and the Church doesn't nurture it at all.

i think so , the holy spirit is a still quiet voice like a gentle breeze , so yer a dancin' & a hollerin' , how can you hear the holy spirit ?
what you probably should be feeling is a sense of peace that comes from trusting the lord , don't worry , you'll know when it happens.
just live according to what you already know & prayerfully let it lead you

Sure sometimes. Other times not.

I have done a few "manifestations of the spirit". Ususally out of obedience. G-d is just looking for people that will do anything He says. If He wants me to do cartwheels around the church, I will. I will stand on my nose for Him. He is just testing our obedience. PLUS it makes our flesh squirm. Saying yes to the spirit is saying no to the flesh. Helps us win the battle of the flesh.

Hope that makes some sense. Bus sure, alot of people do it to look spiritual.

Blessings
David

People believe whatever they allow their minds to believe. I think those that believe in a higher being to those certain extents are poorly educated, insecure people. We come from an evolutionary process. There are no spirits, just physical cells that procreate and die.
