I don't know the bible that well, but I'm sure there are no stories about Jesus the boy/teen. Where do you think he spent his childhood? I have my own theory but would like to hear yours.

In the first 1/2 hr of putting up this question I have had 11 responces. So now I will add on my own idea and wait to see if anyone has similar theories. I believe that he spent his time in a buddist monestry, I believe that his lessons for us have ended up like chinese whispers, distorted and altered to fit whom so ever has spoken about them.

Except for that one time when Jesus was 12 years old*, we see no history of Jesus before he was 30 years old.

*He said "I am in my father's house".

He was so well schooled on the scrolls of the OT, we can guess that he spent a lot of time studying his religion.

At the age of (12) his parents found Him with the Priest teaching them. Not much is said about Jesus during His teen years. I believe that He studied and prayed a lot for understanding of His Father in Heaven. I think He watched the teachers of the law, the Pharisees and the hypocrites, and knew the road before Him was not going to be an easy task. I'm sure His childhood were spent doing the will of His Father.

There is very little known about Christ's childhood after the magi visit him (aged around 3) and when he goes to the temple with his parents (aged around 12).
Probably during the years in between he had a fairly uneventful childhood, learning his fathers trade (i.e. being a carpenter) although no doubt people would have realised he was special as he knew his scriptures inside out, and would have also been an incredibly well behaved child.
He probably spent his childhood with his parents in Nazareth (Matt 2:22-23)

The only scripts that contain any information about Jesus as a boy were deemed so corrupt they were not added to any religious books. The only thing in the Bible is about His birth, the fact the Magi came to see Him as a child and that He went to the temple in Jerusalem at age 12. That is all the Bible contains.

The New Testament in the Bible talks about Jesus' childhood. Jesus' preached to leaders in the synagouges in Matt 13:54. There are several references to this.

I don't know if you've heard of Urantia. It is a cult that believes that aliens have revealed to them the ultimate knowledge of the universe and their scripts (received by aliens) contains knowledge of the life of Jesus as a boy (I do cult research). You would find this info in their literature, however I can guarantee you that it is false. As an orthodox Christian, I reject these sick and false claims because their scripts is highly contradictory and goes against the basic Christian believes.

I've heard that there are many books written by appostles other than the ones in the NT, like the "Gospel of childhood" which describes Jesus' childhood and early life and "the Gospel of thomas".

There's strong 'folklore' that he came to England at some point during his childhood. That's what the first verse of the hymn 'Jerusalem', which has become a sort of secondary English (as opposed to British) National Anthem, are referring to:

"And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon England’s mountains green?
And was the Holy Lamb of God
On England’s pleasant pastures seen?
And did the Countenance Divine
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here
Among these dark satanic mills?"

We don't know anything about him from the time the family returned from Egypt to when he was told off by his mum and dad for staying behind in the temple, talking to the elders.
However, we know he had some kind of education as there is one point in John, where Jesus writes in the sand.

Yes his life up to when he began his preaching as the church teach it, was not put in the bible....they could not put it in and still have a religion....he did much before his adult years, and his crucifiction.. if the truth was known, the churches would fall, all of them...the same with buddism etc..
If the truth came out about all the past spiritual leaders ALL SINCERE GOD lovers would go no more to the church/temple/synogoge/mosques , for they are all the same, and would do as God originaly instructed.................
