I bumped into this guy randomly a few times and I like him a lot. I do email him every once in a while.

Is it cruel if you hire a detective to keep an eye on where he's going And then I could show up and keep bumping into him over and over again and make it sound like it's fate? Is this Cruel or would you everything is fair in love and war?

UNCOOL! VERY UNCOOL!!! If you want to talk to this guy, then YOU do it. Do not hire a detective. I had an ex who had her father run a background check on my father for outstanding warrants and junk. That stuff is totally crossing the line. If you want to know where he is, who his friends are, or what he likes to do, then ask him. If you still want to be stalkerish about it though: Xanga, MySpace, and Facebook. He'll probably be on-line with a list of his favorite hobbies, clubs, sports, activities, books, movies, people, restaurants, jobs, classes, whereabouts, etc... It's 2007! You don't need a detective. They're too expensive. You can do all of this stuff yourself. Though if he finds out, you'll probably lose his trust. And if it turns into a long-term relationship, the guilt will cause you to break one day, and admit that your relationship is built on a lie. Best advice: Tell him that you like him, and be honest about it. :) Have a nice day.

Tha'ts wrong on several levels.

One, you're invading his privacy.

Two, you're taking advantage of knowledge that you're likely to keep to yourself, at least at the beginning of the relationship.

Three, you will be spending money in something that is more likely to annoy him than to seduce him.

Bad idea. That you don't care about his personal rights means you don't love him, you just want to use him. If a guy were talking of doing that to a woman, we all would be screaming bloody murder.

its not cruel its just wierd. And then if you did it and it worked out you became an item would you own up to it? I suspect you wouldn't so there would be this wierd lie always between you.
If you have enough "balls" to do that why dont you tell him straight in an email that you want more.
Dont do private detectiver that is fully wrong!!!!

sounds fine to me. But he might think your stalking him, especially if he doesn't believe in fate.
