Okay, just yesterday when I woke up from my bed my hair was everywhere, so I combed it sideways going down and found a new look I want to keep. Yes, I'm a lightskin black person, but I just want to create something of my own style. My parents don't like it and I think my relatives talk about it behind my back and I'm like 17 years old, so I should be old enough to make my own decision. What should I do?

I think if you like the way your hair looks thats all that matters! Dont worry about what others say, as long as your happy.

Go for it! Do what you want- if you get any flack from your relatives, just remind them of what you do right- like getting good grades, keeping a job, etc. Things like that are way more important than hairstyle- remind them of that and they should respect.
