Actually, I like the name Judas. I've always liked those names, my daughter has a Hebrew name- though she's actually named after a Kiss song. But, I wouldn't name my kid Judas. My normal-named kids get enough harrassment at school for not being Christian without being named Judas. Maybe I'd name a pet Judas. I have a friend named Jude, but I haven't met anyone named Judas.

Would I? Probably not - I don't particularly like the name.

As far as has anyone been named Judas:

Judas Bullhorn (Director, GWAR: Phallus in Wonderland (1992) (V))
Judas Booth (Writer, The Frozen Inferno (2000) (V))
Judas Moruthane (Camera and Electrical Department, Laser Mission (1990))
Judas Sanz (Actor, Mi hermano del alma (1994))
Judas Diz (Second Unit Director or Assistant Director, "A Miña sogra e máis eu" (2004))

(from IMDB)

Why would anyone do anything like that pagan or not? With the way kids are now a days the child would be mercilessly teased and made fun of by the other kids. This has to be one of the most foolish questions I have seen on this sight.

Yes, of course. Haven't you heard of Judas Priest? David, I thought you were *into* those concerts!

I once met a guy named Attila. His parents named him that because they didn't want people messing with him. Judas, however, was not a bad-asss...just a stoolie rat. So, no.

I named my minature doberman Judas but he never turned on me . He did however disappear when left for the day on his chain . hope he didn't hang himself like the friend and betrayer of Christ.
peace out

I wouldn't. Just imagine what those horrible intolerant Xian kids would do to the poor kid in the playground when their parents told them what Judas meant to them.

Pontius Pilate would be a cool name for a God hater, but Pilate was only trying to settle an argument basically and had no desire to have Jesus killed.

Nero would be a good God hater name also, there is no telling how many Christians he had tortured and killed. Hitler would also be a good name for one considering he killed seven million believers.
