ceramic flat irons are easier on your hair. also, get a product that protects your hair a little from the heat... and use a good hair treatment once a week to help.

All hair straighteners fry your hair. The Chi brand hair straightener is a highly acclaimed straightener that tends to not fry your hair, but is highly expensive. Ceramic flat irons are a good choice, but those cheap ones won't do much. For an affordable price and moderate quality effect, try Conair's 3/4 in ceramic straightener. A few good products to use to prevent damaging are Farouk Systems' "Silk Therapy" or the new "Sunsilk" leave in treatment. They work great and make your hair soft and shiny, while protecting it at the same time!

make sure you use some protective spray beforehand..
Condition your hair a LOT.. maybe intensive conditioner one a week
give it a break - my friend straightened her hair every single day and her hair was just soooo dry and frazzled and DAMAGED she HAD to stop using them for a couple of months.... try experimenting with different styles rather than straightening all the time.. Like straighten every other day or something
I have found that GHD do the best straighters (celebs also use them)
another thing to look for if the GHD's are too much is Ceramic straighteners - less harsh than metal etc
i would recommend saving up to get some decent ones as your hair is important and once its damaged you will have to wait for it to grow through to get better..
another option is chemically straightening it - getting it done at the hairdressers - it's a little expensive but it is worth it - it lasts a while and it wont damage your hair as much as cheap straighteners all the time will

It depends on how often you straighten your hair. I have a ceramic C.H.I. flat iron, costs around $120. It doesn't fry my hair and it makes it smooth every time I straighten it. It works great and it keeps your hair straight for as long as you don't wash it (which I wouldn't suggest). But if you're still worried about your hair getting fried, try the C.H.I iron guard spray. It protects your hair from frying. Just spray it in your hair before straightning and you'll get a smooth finish. You can buy any of these products from stores like ULTA or any salon. If you want, you can also order them online.

Are you talking about a chemical straightener or a thermal straightener like a flat iron? All chemical straighteners do a certain amount of damage to your hair. It all depends on the condition of your hair before usage and how well the product is used. A good flat iron will do the least damage if it is a good iron and if it is used with a good thermal protective lotion. I suggest Chi ceramic flat iron and Chi "Iron Guard" protectant.

If you wanna spend mega bucks then get a Chi. I've never used one but I've heard that they're good. But in my opinion, all straighteners are probably gonna fry your hair. Get some of this stuff called Miracle by V05 to spray on your hair beforehand though. I use it and it's made my hair alot better. It's a conditioning spray to use on your hair before you blowdry and straighten.

The cheapey ones are the best ones! Ceramic of course. The mainstream brands like Revlon and ConAir are crappy. You should definately use some type of heat protection cream or serum for your hair before straightening it. I recommend Biosilk.

All straighteners are bad for your hair because they can damage your hair. My girlfriend has a ceramic straightener. It heats up quickly and her hair is always nice. I'm not sure about the price tag, though.

all straightners can be ok at a point. just get a 30$ one at yr local store. But dont get one that says "super hot" or somthin like that. You can use a straightner on yr hair once a day without having gross hair. Just get a nice shampoo. I use a straightner almost everyday on my hair, but my hair is sooo smooth because of my shampoo "i think" i just use, vive.
