Ive been on lexapro for like a month, i started with 20mg. Its probally not a big differnce anyway. My brother started with 10mg and said he felt 100% better on 20mg. But if you feel good you should stay with 10mg. Ur doctor either suspects your not gettin all the benefits from 10mg, or he/she is out of her fukiin mind. Its not really anything to worry about though. Try it, if it dosn't work out then go back on 10mg. It cant hurt you. I love 20mg, I feel normal again, 10mg worked but only for a short amount of time for me. Hope I helped. B safe

Well if 10 was doing just fine for you then she did not really need to up it until the 10 mg was not doing it, so i would really ask her what made her think that she needed to up it to 20 mg's, cause you really have the right to know that, i surely would ask her about it. cause they usually don't like to up it unless they feel that there is a need. Maybe she is seeing something that you are not aware of, and if so ask her to tell you that when she does see things like that so you can understand it more. After all you are suppose to be part of the therapy treatment team too.

I'm taking 10mg of Lexapro and it seems to help. I would be alarmed and scared if my psychiatrist suddenly upped my dose for no apparent reason. I would feel that he was a quack or else I didn't even know myself anymore to be able to gauge my own feelings. In the end I would probably look him square in the eye and say WHY?

She must have felt that you would get more benefit aka feel better taking 20 mg than you did taking 10mg. If you don't feel any different now than you did taking 10 then call your doc and let her know this. You need to be the one to keep your doc updated on how the meds are working for you so she can adjust them accordingly.

First of all, I hope she didn't say "more better". Second of all, I would NEVER go to a doctor who upped your medication dose when you were not having a problem with the lower dose. Any good doctor will tell you that the lowest dose with the best result is preferred. Find another psychiatrist ASAP!!

I hope she didn't say "more better" that's VERY poor grammar especially for someone with the education it takes to be a psychiatrist.

Maybe your Doctor sees something that you do not see. I have struggled with depression for years. I tend to slip in and out of it.
I have had to trust those around me to let me know when it is starting because often I miss the signs for it.
