The public don't want creativity in general - they want to sit down and not have to think. It's the same with books too - look at the top books of the past years.
We're turning into sheep - and we let others do our thinking for us

Creativity takes time and costs money. Game shows are quick and cheap, and require no real script. It's all about the buck. Even those that require scripts are "ripped from the headlines" and are cookie cutters of each other (Law & Order, Law & Order SVU, CSI, CSI Miami, CSI New York, CSI Pocatello, ID). TV seems to like investigators these days. In the 90s, it was doctors (ER, Chicago Hope, etc), in the 80s it was lawyers, in the 70s it was cops. Once a network has a hit, the rest jump on the bandwagon to copy the winning formula. I want westerns to come back, but they are expensive (sets and locations) and would require actual script writing, direction and acting. So, I watch the old stuff that actually worked.

I agree with Chillipop, we ARE turning into a nation of sheep. And you answered your own question. A lot of our TV shows are just Americanized British TV shows. The networks aren't willing to take chances. One hit spawns millions of cheap knock-offs. The real creativity is in other countries--or, at least, in other countries the creativity hasn't been squashed (yet?). Everybody stop watching the "me, too" shows and see if the networks start encouraging new ideas.

Not only that, but notice how TV, movies and music are all going back and using material from the 50s 60s and 70s. It's like the writers can't think of anything new that will appeal to the masses.

properly, usa remains on the precise on the 2d, yet your faculties are going downhill, simply by fact the top of the chilly conflict with u.s.! at that element each thing exchange into focused at prevailing, yet now, this concentration is greater into vogue than something usefull anymore! Your instructors are fleeing the country, and are going to China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia and India, at a similar time as we follow the decrease lead to term of training high quality! Even Harvard has issues, and South Korean faculties are transforming into so warm, than much less and much less expat scholars are coming to the U. S. to benefit technical stuff... They particularly come here to get connections interior the biz... So u.s. is transforming into a biz center confident, yet for something, we are transforming into lazy and gets it returned in the back of the top if we stay complacent like this too long!!

Creativity has faded or is being held captive in a box. I am really getting tired of predicting events in shows that i have never seen before

You have a problem with America. I've seen your other anti-American rants. You should just stay in your British hell hole and not watch any American TV shows. And while you're enjoying your exciting British programs, be thankful your country doesn't fly the Nazi flag.

America wants what sells. Creativity doesn't sell. Soon the arts will be non-existant and the world will be left with nothing but math and sciences.
