Jogging with Small Dogs
Some breeds of smaller dogs that may be up for a short jog in the neighborhood. However, most toy breeds are not built for their athleticism and long distance endurance, so always check to make sure that you pooch is well hydrated and not over exerting himself. Flat-nosed breeds such as the pug are prone to overheating and do not do well in hot weather, so this is important to keep in mind. -

I don't think a very small dog would be able to keep up. I have a small pug and he has a squashed face which makes breathing more difficult so he gets too out of breath if I run too long with him. Small dogs have very short legs and their strides are much smaller, so they would have to take many strides to your one stride. If you want to take a small dog with you jogging, try carrying the dog in a front pack. I take my small pug with me when I ride my bike. He sits in a basket on the handle bars and he loves it!

O my God they luv it!!
But just as the others have said BRING WATER for them, no matter what the temp outside...they need it.
I m chubby and when I TRIED to jog I'd look back at my cocker "dakota" and he'd just be walking and I THOUGHT I was running a marathon!
Used to look like he was laughing though? hmmm......can dogs laugh??

Why not... But you need to keep a close eye so that the small puppy doesn't get exasperated with tremendous exertion.... Take cautious measures and be with it always..
