I also call it pop. When we lived in Kansas, the people there called it soda. I now live in Utah, and most refer to it as pop. Soda is a mixer that goes with alcohol.

I say soda most people in da south use pop though but i think theres a difference between soda n pop like there actually supposed to be different drinks

Around here, we say soda. In other places it's popular to say pop.

Australians call it soft drink. It's very rare to hear somebody call it pop or soda here.

I personally call it pop. Obviously, the term differs depending on where you live. Incidentally, my Geography class was doing some things on this very subject. The website we visited is below.

In New Orleans, we would say soda, not pop. But we most always say "soft drink"--you know, a drink is something with booze if you don't clarify.
