Working out is great no matter what the time frame..500 crunches is a lot of stomach pain,BUT anything you can do to firm the stomach and abdomen muscles will be a blessing to you later in life where your back is concerned! Just remember to change your exercise routine every 2 weeks or so,cause the body will only firm so much under the same workout..Meaning do those crunches, but be creative with them..Change the way you do it..Give that body a challenge, and you'll see a difference in about 3 weeks and will be so pumped you'll want to continue..Happy exercising...

I would say no. You are not to do exercise before bed. I have a flat stomach and I don't do any crunches.

You can do crunches for the next 40 years, but if you are not doing cardio it will do no good. You will just have great ab muscles under layers of flab. You cant lose weight in just one part of your body-need to do overall work.

I dont think its bad for you...its good to do somethings but from everything ive read in looking to shape myself up is that you need to change your eating style, diet is important when it comes to the midsection, also read that you cannot do much by just doing crunchs or sit ups you also need aerobic activity! try this place they have forums to ask questions and articles with tons of info!

Bottom line: you have to burn fat through cardio. You can't "spot burn" fat. Also, exercising before you go to bed tends to effect your sleeping patterns. It's suggested you exercise in the morning or at least before evening. Good luck. . .
