i met a guy on msn, and have been talking for a few months now. We are going out on our first date, but i already know a lot about him as we chat every night. I feel like we are going to have an akward silence between us when we meet.What should i do/ talk about?

Do an activity together... like putt-putt. You don't have to be good at it... just find something that is fun & stimulates conversation. Avoid movies or loud places on a 1st date (hard to talk & listen).

When my girlfriend and I were on our first date, she was extremely nervous (and it was obvious), so there was a lot of silence. I just talked about anything and everything I could think of to avoid the silence. I have a really good sense of humor, so the best way for me to break the ice with someone is to make them laugh. Talk about stuff that you know he likes and that you know wouldn't be hard to carry on a conversation about. If you succeed, the silence will probably leave you alone for the rest of the night. Well first you could at least ask him how his day went! First, I think you thinking about this date too much. Try making your first date interesting set it up to go several different places where you don't need to talk that much! Like the movies, arcade or what ever you or his hobbies might be! Like if he likes sports buy some tickets to a sporting event of your or his favorite team. If you like cats go to a local shelter and look around. Not only does this creates a scene not to talk for the first part but I guarantee that it will bring up things to talk about from the experience!

I just went through this.....talked with I guy I met online...about everything. Every day. Finally met him and it was totally different...he didn't seem like the same person I had been talking to at all. Okay date...pretty awkward in the beginning. After, we exchanged a few emails and that was it. Don't get your hopes up, but I hope it works out better for you...

gosh i know the feeling i hate first dates...bit of advise dont read any more replies go have a good nights rest chill out and just dont care as when you do that is when you two will talk as you will be relaxed
he is probably just as nervous as you so if you try to be the one who make a joke first or something break the ice it will go smooth from there

all you have to do is ask him questions about himself. people love to talk about themmselves. silence isn't as awkward as small talk that tries to fill the silence. DON'T talk about the weather or anything lame that you'd talk about with someone you were in an elevator with. you could read the top interesting news stories, current events to start an interesting topic of conversation.

Well talk about things you always talk about. The weather, work your friends, parants. Ask him more stuff like about his family, go for a walk, hold hands, and if its silence, try to make it a comfortable silence.

What you just sit for the whole date? Go to a dance club or something, drink some get loose, which will help the conversations too.

If you were in a band what would you call it and what kind of music would you play
Do u like any sports/video games?
Who is your hero ?
What is something that always makes you laugh and why
What is a secret talent that you have?
Who do you consider to be your close friends and why
