Recently, but frequently, I've been getting shocked a lot. I guess I know some of the reasons why: builds in my hair, from car seats, etc.

And all I was wondering if getting frequently shocked is bad in any way for your health.

ambient static electricity will cause no harm to you. more technically, a lightening bolt is static electricity. and yes, that can have harmful effect on you. don't worry about touching the door knob or other metal

I hope not. I seem to be always statically charged. At least once a day i get shocked. More depending on what i touch. Its such a pain in the rear end. Hope you get some knowledgeable answers!

Probably the dry air causing it. A humidifier or steam from a simmering pot of water might help in the home.
Don't know of any bad side effects, but it is shocking!

Stactic shock isn't bad until....
If you're around flammble liquids or flammable vapors.
Hairspray is flammable!
Or if you're in a bad mood and then get shocked then that just tends to piss me off even more.

It's normal and will not hurt you, even if it is irritating. Best of luck.
