There were answers that Hitler was not a "true" Christian. I see Catholics accused of not being true Christians also.

Hitler was against homosexuals, he had them murdered. Sounds like a Christian to me!

I love that I called that right. All you got was "He's not a 'true' Xian" in answer. I feel all smug and warm inside. lol

The "True Christian" comment is a logical fallacy called the "No True Scotsman".

'No true Scotsman is a term coined by Antony Flew in his 1975 book Thinking About Thinking. It refers to an argument which takes this form:

Argument: "No Scotsman puts sugar on his porridge."
Reply: "But my uncle Angus likes sugar with his porridge."
Rebuttal: "Ah yes, but no true Scotsman puts sugar on his porridge."

This form of argument is a fallacy if the predicate ("putting sugar on porridge") is not actually contradictory for the accepted definition of the subject ("Scotsman"), or if the definition of the subject is silently adjusted after the fact to make the rebuttal work.'

It just reaffirms the fact for me that Xian Fundies are unfamiliar with such concepts as logic and reason.

And my, I'm cynical tonight.

Most Christians don't won't homosexuals murdered.I know I don't want to murder anyone.
The thing is,no one knows Hitler's heart, and if he really was a Christian. It's easy for anyone to proclaim that they are,but that doesn't make it so.
Many times,Hitler claimed that he was a Christian. But in other cases,he privately ridiculed Christian beliefs. He also dabbled in the occult.
The thing is,we can't claim that Hitler was not a 'true Christian' because that's a version of 'no true Scotsman' fallacy.
If he was actually a Christian, then I personally want to say that he should not be taken as a representative of the Christian faith, and I roundly condemn him,as any other Christian would.

I believe Hitler started his own religion - Nazism. Many people do not see it as that, but I do believe that that is what it is. As for Hitler being against gays and sounding like a Christian made me chuckled - however not all Christians are against homosexuals.

This reminds me of the third graders I tutor, GTW. Having a hard night?
GTW is against logic.
GTW murders logic.
Therefore GTWW sounds like a (Almost said bipolar - but I would not want to insult the sanity of those saints.) illogical...hmm female? Texan? FEMINIST!
GTW - This is so far beneath you. Guilt by association is one thing, but guilt by shared belief? Arabs hate the jews so I suppose Hitler was an Arab too?

I don't know what Hitler was, but he called his organization Socialist. Sounds like Communist Atheism to me. Union of Soviet Socialists.

Socialists. Rob from the rich to support the poor. What happens if everyone decides to become POOR, who will we rob from?

I am a Christian and have gay friends. G-d loves them as much as any other sinner. Churches are full of sinners, me included. I have never killed a homosexual or even hurt one.

Bless you

Anyone who is not BORN AGAIN is not a true CHRISTIAN.

Is that clear enough for you?

JESUS HIMSELF SAID, "Except a man be BORN again, he cannot see the kingdom of GOD".
and again,

"Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again".

So what was missing from all of Hitlers claims? where did he claim he was BORN AGAIN?

Hitler was neither true nor false. He was a eugenicist, and he hated Christianity. It is true that he used the Lutheran Church in Germany to his own ends, but that does not make him a Christian.

Alex, it is you who doesn't quite get it. Our religious text defines what a Christian is. "Whoever says he loves God and hates his brother is a LIAR". Hitler was no Christian, and we haven't defined him out, the Bible has.
