that was a bad example, eating does a lot for you, it keeps you alive, and it tastes good. Voting does nothing for you.

every vote matters
100 million and 1
the 1 is really insignificant

Hey well next time you go to vote, I will vote for the opposite person, that way we both can stay home

If everyone thought like me, then I would vote hahaha. Cause it would matter then. I'm just taking it from a mathematical stand point. As far as my life making a difference it does. I know that.

actually I wish nobody did vote, because I hate the way America is going, and it would cause a revolt, and changes to be made. why vote for someone you don't believe in, just because he's better than the other option.

Like the first answerer said, if everyone thought like that, nobody would vote (and so nothing would work).

So, should an individual get up off the comfy couch and go vote? If you care about the results, yes. But, in my opinion, only people who know why they're voting and what they're voting for should vote, or it just cancels out the vote of someone who's serious.

If only serious people voted (and actually got off the couch to do it) the world would be better (or worse, either way). You have to think about the machine you're trying to get running, and get others to vote with you, or it won't run.

Instead of thinking of yourself as a tiny individual on election day, just imagine how pathetic it would be everyone thought that. In the grand scheme of things, you either believe in getting up and voting, or you believe in everyone sitting on their couches and nothing happening. Sounds drastic, but that's what it winds down to. In my opinion, one shows his laziness and apathy toward the common good by not voting.

Your vote does count in numbers! But ask yourself this, even if you vote for a particular person and that person wins the elections, you have to put up with his or her mistakes as well.
People think that voting is a democracy but it is only a democracy when everyone has a say. Which hasnt happened since the time of Ancient Greece!

Do you think your life really matters?
I mean seriously the probability that you life will change the world significantly is like none.

I guess we don't need the human species either? If everyone decided that their vote was worth nothing..no one would vote...there would be no democracy...so either your against democracy or you're really ignorant. Individually a single vote doesn't matter much but in the end every vote is combined making a number that does.

I know my vote matters. I have seen how just a few votes can affect the outcome of an election in 2000, and again in 2004.

Mine doesn't because I'm 40 and I have never voted. I'm Italian and I do not think that there is a single Italian politician worthy of my vote.

that may be true but I vote to offset some neocon that is more worried about two guys kissing each other than stem cell research, global warming, the deficit or waste of our tax dollars in Iraq..let alone the loss of life and limb that is Iraq

My vote doesn't matter. But if my brother was a Governor of a certain state, then I'd run for president of the U.S.A.

After Florida and Ohio in the last two presidential elections, I think the government can fix any election that they want.

Sure, and if everybody felt that way, there would be no stalker laws, there would be no laws to fight against abused children and we would be back in the days when women couldn't vote and only certain people had rights.
