can psychosis be caused by a hit to the head/ brain injury?

Yes, certain behavioral disorders can be caused by injuries as well. Brain tumors can cause schizophrenic or homicidal behavior.

I have heard of links between brain injury and depression. I have been hospitalized for 2 head injuries and have had several that have caused me to black out. The first of these was at 13, I am now 36. I don't know if it was teenage years or the brain injuries that caused my depression initially but I have it. Now I ask myself what does it matter how I got it, I just need to deal with it.
Sometimes it doesn't matter why something is, it just is.

I used to work with a guy who had schizophrenia, and it apparently started after he had a head injury. I don't think it's typical either of head injuries or as a cause of psychosis. According to the article cited below, "Psychosis is a rare but devastating sequela of traumatic brain injury (TBI)."
