Your manual tells you witch parts are interchangeable! Don't have a manual? Get one! Changing Glock caliber requires the same frame and other small parts changovers.

No it's not. The outside dimensions of the 9mm and 40 cal. barrel would have to be the same. The firing pin also has to line up with the center of the primer on the case. The 40 cal. case is larger, so I'm not sure where the pin would strike on the smaller 9mm case.
There are some autos out there that do allow for changing calibers but I don't believe Glock is one of them.

No. Firearms that can have mulitple calibers without modification are typically revolvers, and even then it is risky. For instance you can shoot .38 specials out of a .357 revolver, but not a .357 semi-auto.

Just because the bullets are the same caliber(diameter) doesn't mean they are they same length wise, and the casing will be different too. A 9mm, .38 and .357 all have the same diameter but the cases are longer respectively. In a revolver with straight chambers, the rounds are meant to fit by diameter, but in a semi-automatic like Glocks, the rounds are meant to fit in all aspects of the round.

sOUNDS LIKE A SLIGHT GAMBLE HOMEY, THE BARREL HOLE IN THE UPPER WILL BE BIGGER THAN THE 9MM HOLE, AND MAY NOT STABILIZE RATTLE ENOUGH THUS CAUSING A WARPING BUT I AM NOT SURE. pLAY IT SAFE THOUGH HOMEY.
