The Can Get Virus, People Just Don;t Write Virus For Mac, And It's More Secure Than Windos Since That It's Built On UNIX Not DOS. And For Me Mac Is Better I Was A MS Windows User For 8 Years And It Took Me Just 10 Mins To Switch To Mac. Don't Listen To The Other Guy He's Stupid And He Doesn't Know Anything About Macs

It is possible for a Mac to get a virus, but its rare. Their are only 50-100 viruses for the Mac and over 1,000,000 viruses for the PC. The reason you can get a virus on a PC is because most people use a PC. Why target a small group, if you could effect billions of PC users. If more people used mac then a PC, then hackers would make viruses for the Mac and not PC.

a mac can get a virus just as easy as a pc the reason that they don't is that with apple having such a small share of the computer market most mal-ware writers don't concentrate on writing virus programs for the mac as it doesn't affect the computing community as nearly as badly as affecting pc's does. So don't assume they can't get a virus they can just as easily as a pc but there really aren't a whole lot of virus programs out there written for a mac it is what is called security through obscurity, this is the same reasoning why linux is considered more secure

Macs can get virus is just that it is a lot less common for them than it is for a PC. This is because over 95% of the viruses out there are directed to attack Windows programs and only a very small percentage, in comparison, of all the viruses affect Macs.

They can, it's just that they are more rare.

When a devious programmer writes a virus, they do so with the hopes of infecting as many people as possible. Since the vast majority of computers run some version of Windows, PCs are a MUCH larger target than MACs.

Much fewer people use them. So no one makes viruses that target them. Plus the mac Kernel is Unix based, much more secure than the MS Kernel. OSX is an all around more secure OS than any windows OS. The apple techies also patch much faster when there is a problem.

I remember IE 6 had a hole that let people take over your computer. That was left unfixed for over a week. Never with apple. Its not impossible, but it is virtually impossible.

They can, there arn't that many viruses that affect the mac because most people own a Windows computer so writing a virus that affects Windows would do more harm.

It's not that they can't get viruses, it's the fact that because most people own PC's that support Windows, most viruses are made to effect them. Basically it is a matter of being able to do the most damage to the largest number possible, so it just isn't logical to develop viruses that attack Macs.

It also can be infected. Better to be on safe side, you insatll a standard antivirus soft ware such as Norton, AVG , Avast ( free antivirus software and Ad-aware, Ewido ( free spyware removers). You can download free softwares at
