.. more sacrifice for sins."? Also, following verses; 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?" Hebrews 10:26-29
How do others interpret these verses? How can people sin willfully, count the blood of the covenant unholy and do despite to the Spirit of grace?

This is a very good question! What it is saying in Hebrews is that in the old testament, they were sanctified by faith in the Lord and obedience by sacraficing animals. They had not had Jesus die on the cross for them yet. It took a lot more faith in the old testament to be saved becuase they had less to go on. In hebrews it is saying that if the people in the old testament were condemned or "did not recieve mercy" then how much more so will people be condemned who reject the Lord Jesus Christs dying on the cross for their sins. It was one thing in the old testament to not have faith, but now that the Lord has died for our sins, those that trample on His blood, by not accepting Him now that He has died will surely be condemned.

There are two different major views on this passage that depend upon whether or not a person is in the "once saved, always saved" camp or not.

The OSAS side claims that a person who has been born again by the Holy Spirit cannot continue on in willful sin because the Spirit will bring such a level of conviction upon them that they will be forced to repent because any enjoyment their particular area of sin formerly brought them will be replaced with remorse.

That being the case they claim that this passage only refers to people who have heard the gospel message and perhaps given an intellectual consent to it and so the passage is similar to what they believe in regards to the similar passage in Hebrews 6.

Hebrews 6:4 For it is impossible to restore again to repentance those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, (5) and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, (6) if they then fall away, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.

In other words, since a person has learned the truth but prefered sin to repentance, they reach a point where they have filled up the measure of their iniquities and God no longer seeks to save them.

The other view people hold is that this passage says what it seems to say and that God doesn't take away a person's free will when they turn to Christ so if they willingly continue to engage in known sin they have despised God's gracious gift of Jesus and treat His sacrifice as something not worthy of being honored. That being the case there isn't going to be a second chance. God isn't going to send Jesus to die for their sins again and they have only the expectation of being condemned on the day of judgment despite their knowledge of the gospel truth.

When one accepts Christ as his saviour where the blood of Jesus washes away his sin, he become cleansed of all sins & is reborn & thereafter as Jesus told the adulteress;
"Sin No More". But one who continues to sin after receiving the Grace & Mercy of God & knowing the Truth of the Gospel therefore committing sin wilfully does not deserve the sacrifice of the Lord. People like this will be judged more harshly on judgement day than those who
have not accepted Christ because despite the sacrifice the Lord has made, they have not repented & have taken for granted the Lord's mercy defiantly & expecting the
Lord to welcome them with open arms each time they sin like a prodigal son. I don't think the father would slaughter a lamb for his son if he comes home a prodigal son every day! Don't take your God for a fool - you don't get away
with sin everytime as some would like you to believe.

For if we sin willfully after that we have recieved the knowledge of the truth, there remaineht no more sacrifice for sins.

The knowledge of truth that is being spoken of here is the big one, blasphemy of the Holy spirit.

Once we know that Jesus is God, and God is truth and we reject that knowledge, we have rejected God (blasphemy).

This verse is not talking about our sins of the flesh that we will continue to fight against until our last breath on this earth, it is talking about rejecting God after you know of his truth.

Your other verses are talking about those whom never believed the truth, even after they heard it. These would be the saggisies and the pharasis (sp). There is much that made these people resist the truth, mainly the loss of their personal power over a very large group of people. Modern day examples would be the Catholic Church. The power of a few over many.

The bible states very clearly that if a brother sins, you are to pray for him and ask God to forgive him. That implies that you are to continue praying for forgiveness of your sins.

Are you saved? Surely not. Because if you are, why are you still here?

Actual salvation only occurs on judgement day. Otherwise why are some people turned away at the door? "Depart, for I do not know you"

Wilful sinning has no forgiveness. A man who truly repents would not wilfully sin. The wilful sinner was never a repented believer in the first place, so the 'conversion' is a spritual farce and God knows.

because all we need to do is ask God to forgive us one time. then we are already forgiven. so when you sin you dont need to ask for forgiveness anymore. you say you are sorry but dont need to be forgiven for you already are. you say sorry and repent. turn away from what you are doing that is wrong.

i dont believe once saved always saved. for faith without works is dead. however once you are forgiven you dont need to be forgiven again. Jesus died for all my sins once. not once per sin.

and again many of us still sin. it is willfully for we know it is wrong. but there is a differance between accidentally sinning and then repenting and trying to not do it anymore. or just plain knowing you are not to go out and get drunk but you do it anyways. to me blasphemy is more so denying christ after you know he is true. or my church believes in being filled with the Holy Ghost and talking in tongues as initial evidance. that would be someone experiancing this and those who have know what i am talking about and then denying it happend. or trying to pretend later on. like we had a teen who got filled and then had a sleep over. her friends new about it and asked her to do it. she could not just do it so she acted like she was. and was put in a mental institute, like i said we all sin willfully. just some dont realize they did it or it was wrong tell later.

ok ,,to the best of my knowledge,, when jesus gave his life as a ransome for you're sins,,another words when you accepted the truth and were babtized in it ,,devoted to doing gods will,,and thin you willfully choose to end that dedication and to sin against the spirit,,this is blasphemy wich there is no forgiveness,,,sinning against the spirit would be like,,what judas iscariot done to jesus by betraying him for silver coins,,,after he was one of the 12 dec,,,judas willfully planned a way to make money on letting the pharisses know where jesus was at,,he althou did not think they were going to kill him but just to question him,,when judas found out that they had him impaled judas killed himself wich is also blasphemy to god...

First, get a New International Version Bible. Easier to understand. After Jesus, Sacrifice was no longer needed, He was our ultimate sacrifice for sin.
